Default Loose Rear need tuning tips

any help and tips would be great
my car seems to be real loose in the rear, its set at 1.5 toe in
-1 camber, 45 wgt shock oil
my main question is, should i try stronger springs, softer?
more toe in, different shock oil

More toe-in my friend. That should settle the rear a little bit.

If you need more traction after that, than add a softer spring

BTW: For a starting point I always use 40wt all the way around unless someone tells me different/I know different for that surface

Have you talked to the guys at Schumacher? Adrian has a setup you might try.

Are the tires right for the track? CS 27 seem to work well on asphalt..

you might try adjusting the droop also...but for the rear end I think that will ony affect off power traction...I never understood droop very well.

Check the back of the MI2 manual for more suggestions. From what I've seen, tires are the first place to look. Good luck..

Also...are you running a locked front diff, one way, or standard diff...you might have too much steering and be oversteering the corners on a tight track...just a thought..

loose coming in , mid or going out ?

Droop ?

Mark is right, Adrian has a great setup for the car, prolly at the same track too. Seems like your oil is little heavy to what most guys are running on the Mi2.. 35-40

What Springs ? what s your ride set at ?

more toe in in the rear?
change your droop in the back?...maybe your weight transfer is too quick going into the corners...you could maybe try a little heavier shock oil in the front

maybe a front sway bar?

make sure all your bearings are clean too and not binding

i am using the set up from adrian for the track i run at, all is good but rear is still loose, its strange but since i freed up the drivetrain my car has been loose in the rear

even put on a front swaybar to ease it up and still loose as of last night
how much droop change should i make its at 3mm in the rear and 1.5 mm in the front
also have 1mm antiswat in the rear
guess first thing ill do is try more toe in and go to 3mm thanks everyone for the tips and info

OK..this may seem counterintuitive, but something to try. You may have too much weight transfer back to front with 3mm droop rear and 1.5 front. Try reducing rear droop to 2mm,,,Oops, depends on how you are measuring...try reducing the amount of down travel you have in the rear (by screwing the grub screws in), which should reduce the amount of weight transfer to the front...a little droop goes a long way, so make minor changes here, about 1mm at a time.

You might also try sliding the batteries back a little to move some of the battery weight to the rear...

Good luck

is loose coming in to the turn, goin out of the turn ? What springs ?

I have not seen too many examples of needing more toe in on the Mi2. As Mark says, 1mm of droop would prolly be a good start.

BTW, make sure you have followed Adrians setup to the T.. EXACTLY. Little chnages can make a big difference

Loose is fast sometimes. Maybe the setup is too agressive for you. Do you have your dual rates set so you have enough to get around the track and only a touch more? Too much dual rates can make driving the car harder.

Sounds like your used to a drag brake effect, run some drag brake and see if it helps. If you can't do it via your esc just use neg trim on your radio(provided you don't have rev.).
