I'm unfamiliar with the data logger, what exactly do you use it for? I assume it's to record voltage patterns/spikes? But what then? Can you give a couple examples of why I might need one? Or what you can do with it that's useful? It seems like it would be most useful on a track or for speed runs, and have a controlled event when creating the log.
Say your geared to the moon for a speed run on 4200 6s 45c on a 2650kv, and you attempt a 80 to 100mph run and the esc goes up in smoke does it fry your data logger too? Can you still obtain the data to figure out where you went wrong?

Thats exactly why you get a logger, and obviously you wouldn't poor everything you have into your system and then max speed the first time out. gearing, voltage and speed start low view the results, bump it up, view the results etc etc. I have two temp sensors, one loop on the motor and another on the esc, plus an RPM sensor. See your power usage and temps in real time. Actually my friend is an electronics engineer and helps me when we use it so really I don't know much other than I want the temps to be in check. The logger has other options, FPV, GPS.

I see, it could be handy for being able to tell if the battery is getting taxed the max or being able to tell if the battery will allow for more gearing. It just looks so cluttered on the chassis, wires everywhere! Anyone know if I can buy the x0-1 motor anywhere and what size it is?

Jstall,
Thanks for the tips! Did you add loctite to any screws or disassemble/reassemble anything prior to your first run? Or was it pretty much just add electronics and go?
I see from one of your pics that you are using an HPI Tork motor. Were there any clearance problems between the motor and chassis? I was concerned about the tall "fins" on the Tork motors.
Look forward to hearing what speeds you're able to get with your new motor.

That's the body it came with from tower last week. It is weird the way they show the other picture but the description on the car is correct.
Im pretty sure you could go to 23t no problem. My 2650 just came in today, I'm going to stick with 20t on the 2650, I'm going 5s though. The car is a blast to drive! It's a rush! Out of the box I had to crank the spring pre load about a 1/4" or so, the springs are backed all the way off. Also need to ajust the droop screw to keep the front end from rising up to far under heavy acceleration. I also moved the rear hubs to the rear position for a little bit longer wheel base. Other than that I'm loving this thing! I ordered some 12v lights for it powered by a small 3s lipo turned on and off by the 3rd channel. Should be sick for driving under the street lights.

I just put blue loc tight on the wheel nuts, everything else feels really tight. The installed motor in the pics is a hpi 2200kv i removed a few rows of the heatsink to fit in my sc8e to clear the rear chassis brace so I'm not sure if I'll need to do the same thing to the new 2650, I hope not! I'll find out tomorrow. I'm installing the tail light LEDs right now. I work night's so the lights will help in the parking lot when there are no overhead lights. The sinks twist right off with pliers if needed.

Have you ever tried 5 or 6s on your 2650?
