Default For the speed demons

For the record you can mount the neu castle 1717 in the gtp2e or dirt oval by just grinding the motor mounts to accommodate the 4mm screw to mount the motor.

Castle told me to forget it . That it would never get past 30 mph . We'll see.

Beer can sized motor installed. 1717 - 1580 kv motor

25 tooth spur while i wait for a 30 tooth from tekno.

At 4s sure not fun but why don't you try 5s or better yet 6s that should be fun.

I tried 5s with the metal spur and it pulls very hard. I will test 6s next week during my next shake down . I tried to get top speed with sweeps gt and they just wouldn't hook up, Making the run up to top speed impossible. I will try 6s with the grp's next week with better results I am sure. I think I will need a larger pinion than 30 for some reason

I have a friend that runs his GTP2 for top speed only after many failures with tires currently is using the Ofna's belted slick tires with the Ofna's red insert and he's having good luck with it and is running a little over a 100mph.He's still using the stock plastic 51t spur with 6s lipo's.I think the bigger pinion you can fit on the stock motor mount would be a 26-27 with a 51 spur so keep that in mind bigger that that you need to change spur gear fr a smaller one or modify-replace the motor mount.

I was wondering if a 1/8 tuggy or MT body would fit and what it would look like on a gtpe chassis . does any one have a body to place on the gtp and post a pic. i would like to see how far the wheel stick out and if it would be cool to bash around with

I am going with the 47 tooth spur from ofna and 30 tooth pinioion with risers on the center spool diff support so the pinion doesn't hit the chassis . . I am thinking 6s isn't going to be enough.

Which hv speed controller can I use that won't send me into bankruptcy ? That castle joint seems extremely expensive.

The stock ofna diffs do not last long with 6s power. If you use a reciever pack and disable/disconnect the castle BEC unit the MMM can take 7-8s power for a limited time.

For reliability you will need to step up to the offshore boat power plants.

Check Out : http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...Speed+Controls

You will also need to match the ESC with an appropriate sized motor. Using 8-12s will cause you to purchase a 500-1000kv motor. These things have extream torque and your diffs will not be long for this world.

You will see by the chart below your current motors peak is some other motors sustained output.

What diffs do you recommend for 6s?
