Wow!!! I can see replacing shock towers, front plate and center plate but don't you think changing out the chassis also would make your rig more apt to be pushed around by the other heavier rigs on the track. Just my .02.

45% weight reduction over stock is quite huge but static weight is a factor that effects all performance features of a car. There is a reason race cars don't have cup holders.

1) reduced tire wear
2) increased accelleration
3) increased battery life
4) increased cornering speed

In my view of it I don't mind if I am pushed around on the track by heavier rigs as long as they don't mind going 2 laps down.

And how many turns do you guys give the shocks? I've marked mine with a Dremel tool, so I can count the turns I give easy.

Hope you can help me.

I recently got a gtp2e, and have a rx8 2250 combo on the way. Planning on running 5s. Only gonna be doing street bashing and speed runs. Wondering about a good start for gearing? Also wondering where to get springs and a good starting point for those also. Currently have 60wt oil in the front and rear shocks, and 125wt in the front diff, and 50 in the rear. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I see that many are running the rx8 2250 with the steel 47t and 23t pinion. Will this be safe on 5s, or should I start with something smaller like a 20t?

Try IGT Hobbies. Great place for GT8 parts and they offer free shipping.

Unfortunately at this time the springs you get in the kit are the only ones specific to the GTP2e available. The yellow, white, & red springs everyone talks about are for the DM-1 kit and will work. (NOTE: You will need to modify the front shocks to make them longer to accept these springs.)

YELLOW (FIRM) PART# OFN40740
WHITE (MED) PART# OFN40739
RED (SOFT) PART# OFN40738

nitrohouse.com or ofnawarehouse.com

Even the SOFT part is extremely stiff feeling compared to the stock ones that come on the car no comparison at all.

What parts do you use to modify the shocks to make them longer? Can i just get 2 more rear shocks and stick them in the front?

Give these guys a try. It could also be that the shore rating you are looking for isn't too popular. Just my .02. Good Luck!!!
