Yep, just the motor to use in sensored mode on my MMP, but only in May...
Down here in Brazil the stores are way too expensive and if I order by mail I have to pay 60% of tax on the product + shipping! too much money!
I'll be going to the US on May (Vegas, SF, LA and NY) and I willl buy in this trip.

Hey Alpha! (Marcos? Marcel?)
I saw a picture of the Alpha R2 Body on rcmasters and I was sure it was an electric car, was this car the GTP2e? I thought you guys had only GP cars... Welcome to the smokless side of the force!
So, what is your ESC/Motor setup? Please, after the tests, imform us how it is compared with the GPs.
Abraços,
Pompeu

Guys... I just got my Tekin RX8 w/2250kv motor in today. Being new to the electric world of RC my question is will this motor handle different because it’s a truggy motor (longer more torque) or should I have gotten a 2050kv or 2650kv motor instead?

That's what I'm running geared at 17/48, 4S 6500 Lipo, Tekno Traktion Drive and center diff. Temps are never a problem and you have tons of power for the straight aways. You'll need to take it easy on the trigger.

Ha... when you say take it easy on the trigger (something I never do) will I be able to control that with my throttle curve on my 3pks? In Austin we have a small track that can be tight and technical at times, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nk-iTpKZ3E but I wanted something that would be good for when I go visit the larger tracks in Texas.

I also think the stock spur gear on the GTP2e is a 51. Should I start with 14 pinion?

Yeah, i'd use a less aggressive curve, I even turn down the current limit on my rx8. Try curve 3 (C3) on the esc with no timing advance to start with if traction is a issue.
A 15th pinion is a good starting point. Then you can gear up when u get comfortable with the speed. 2 speed is the ticket for larger tracks though like 200ft plus tracks or else you'll be eaten up on the straight..................

I swapped out the Pletty for the Tekno Nue 1515 1.5D motor and ran it last nite with the 28T pinion + 4s Acepow. Calculated speed is around 80mph and it sure looked like it went that fast. I did this run with the Ofna Blue foam tires that has about 2-3mm of foam on the rim. I blew foam ups before with less speed. But I figured because that was with fresh uncut foam tires. Lesson learned. The Tekin only had 3 lights on and the motor wasn't even sweating after a few speed runs. Waiting on my V4 eagletree logger and gps receiver to arrive to post some real speeds and verify/tweak my excel calulator.

What speed calc are you using there? You made it yourself in Excel?

That calculator is my latest version and is pretty accurate with sensorless motors. I'm just waiting on my V4 eagletree and gps to verify the timing and Motor winding feature. After that I can work on calculating sensored systems.

Robert, get with me at the track when you are ready to race, and I will show you the setup in my 4PK. I did some tweaking with the throttle speed setting in the radio, and it made a huge difference, since I also have that on/off trigger finger.
