51mph

I just ordered mine.

This will be my first on-road car. Like many others, I found the Traxxas XO-1 appealing. After a few non-successful attempts to get a used XO-1 on ebay, I found this gem of a car.

I checked hobbypartz for motor combos, but looks like everything is sold out at the moment. Does anyone have suggestions for a budget motor? I will be using a 3 or 4 cell LiPo, and looking for speeds around 40-50 mph.

This will be used for bashing. If I ever locate a track that I can use with my schedule, I could get into the track driving, and think about racing. So I don't need to spend crazy cash on stuff for the racing scene. If I do eventually get into racing, then I will upgrade as necessary.

Middle of winter so its no use right now, but i finally got around to putting some speed gearing in my GTP2e, using the RC-Monster Delrin 46 spur i added a 23t pinion to the mix.
The limited runs i did last year after i picked this 2nd one up were on 14/51 gearing. (if i counted right - who doesn't tag the tooth count anyways)
Using the same data on the speed calculator I'm looking at a jump from 38 to 70 mph theoretical top speeds on 4s lipo

After looking at the first 50 pages, I may be leaning towards the Mamba Monster 2, and NC1515-2200kVNC1515-2200kV motor.
I have the MMP SCT edition, and have a healthy respect for that motor, now that I have gotten away from the stock gearing on my SC10 4x4.

If u are looking for speed...then tq is jot important so therefore u may wanna go with the 2650kv. As mentioned before I accomplished 105mph with the MMM and 2650kv set up. But if u are couse racing then yes, 2200kv is the set up to go with with proper gearing for tq to get out of the corners like a bullet and speed down the stretch all while keeping temps nice and cool.

ok, cool.

I am not so much interested in top end speed, but hitting a track* for fun. So, the 2200 feels like the better choice.

*when I find a track that is close and open during the week and evenings.

First off this page is full of great information, my gtp2e should be here anyday now. looking at my Mamba monster 2200 combo stock spur with 29t pinion, on 4 and 6s shoudl be a whole lot of fun. I would like to make it look like my summer toy a 91 3000gt
Does anyone know if the spice GTO body will fit these? If not how about another GTO/3000gt/Stealth body that will fit?
Thanks in advance
Matt

SweepracingUSA.com is a great place to start for 1/8 GT wheels.

About to purchase one of these. Can someone confirm that the largest pinion a GTP2e can accommodate with further modifications. Is it 28 or 29? I have heard that a 29t is difficult to mesh.

Also, what kind of speed should I expect with a 28 pinion, 2100kv motor, and 6s? and 4s?

Thank you in advance. First choice was DM1 but leaning towards this now.

But I like the lightweight chassis to include the holes to cool down the motor..

Newbie here, but loving the forum. Just finishing up my Mamba Monster Ultra GTP2 and just crashed my Mamba Monster Ultra LX2 today on one of my first high speed runs.
I just tried posting pics of my GTP2 and a vid off the LX2 crash, but it wont let me cause I haven't made any posts yet. Lame. Well here it is. My first post. I know you're all thrilled. lol How many posts do I have to have before I can post up pictures?

I'm an idiot, didn't realize you don't have to host the pics. Too bad I can't post the youtube vid of me crashing the Mamba Monster LX2 yet. I think you guys on here would have appreciated it.

With all the videos I saw, the bodies have been scraping at the end of the runs. Is there a quick fix to this like highering the body or stiffening the shocks?
