it is painted on the outside, with a black matt paint. body assembly only was not so nice anymore, so it made it a coat of paint.

Check out Rc-monster.com they have a couple options in the GTP2e spur situation

If you go with the 8mm Shaft "Revo Spur" option you can go as low as a 36t mod 1 from Traxxas

Not sure if you can get lower than that.

Hello everyone, first off I want to say this is a GREAT thread. Lots of very good information here. Been into RC for a while, but never terribly interested in On-Road vehicles until I saw the Traxxas XO-1 which I promptly got from ebay and awaiting delivery on. I couldn't possibly just have a single on-road vehicle in my stable, so I searched around to find a suitable companion and decided on the GTP2-e. Here's what I currently have on its way.

Ultra GTP2-e Kit
Mamba Monster
Additional receiver for my radio
Hobbywing 1900kv motor (motor I already own, may upgrade at a later date)
21,22,23t pinions
Some extra plastic spurs (stock)
Sweep 50's belted slicks, premounted, soft insert
Traxxas 2075 servo (have a bunch of them laying around, may upgrade later)
And I already have several 2 and 3s 40C lipos

Anything else I'll need, or is highly recomended to have for this vehicle? Any tips would also be greatly appreciated. This will be my first kit car, everything else I've owned has been RTR, but I've broken a few of my RC's all the way down and rebuilt them like my Slash and brushless e-revo so I don't think it'll be too much of a shock.

Set up out the box is fine.
Start off with a 18-19t pinion with no timing on the RX8 and go from there.
Monitor temps on motor and ESC.

Investing in fans for the motor and ESC is a good idea with onroad.
I use these and it's really incredible how much air they move and how much cooler my motor and ESC stay
http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-ya...?cPath=1560_32
Only thing I recommend is before installing the fans is add some shoe-goo to the 2 wires coming off the fan. Dabb a little goo where the wires come off the fan onto the fan housing otherwise its really easy to yank the wire off the fan.
Order a extra fan and mount it ontop of the rx8(remove shitty stock fan) and run power directly from the RX.

Here's a pic of my car as an example

What sort of top speed do you think I'm looking at with a 1900KV motor and a 21t pinion (stock spur) on 5S? I know there's the speed calculator, but I'm looking more for real-world estimates, not theoretical maximums.
