What do you guys think of this as an upgrade for the 2011

http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....ducts_id=12591

My chassis has had it after a hard year racing, was looking at the 2012 chassis and found this. Looks like they just traced the outline of the 2012 chassis on this

highly recommend it mate.....i have the t311 version, but my mate has this version.....both have the servo mod.....you wont be disappointed...one thing to know its carbon graphite....not carbon fiber...which gives it more flex than the originals so it works but if you need a genuine xray one...i have a brand new one with a cso top deck for sale....make an offer on the both

Hi kinga,
I would recomend the smokem fx if your racing on low traction tracks the smokem is a little bit more flexible then a original t3 12 chassis the cso would have even more again and i personally wouldnt want to go any more flex then the smokem chassis. But if the track you drive on has a decent amount of grip the flexier chassis will bog down and the kit chassis would be allot better.

I have a near new t3 2011 I would like to sale. It's only been driven on carpet, actually only about 15 battery packs through it. It's really like new. I just like Tamiya, sorry. I finished I think 6th at last years carpet ants with it. PM me if interested.

I dont understand how smokem t3fx chassis
http://www.smokem-racing.com/T3FX.html
Would have less flex than this Chassis
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....ducts_id=12591

They are both 2.2 mm thick.

The xray chassis actually says its graphite too
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....ducts_id=12400

I could understand that this chassis would be quite flexy
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....ducts_id=12803

but a little confused.

Our track is medium grip, wouldnt call it high grip though. I like the price of the CSO chassis, and with the aftermarket top deck
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....ducts_id=12592
it would be a very affordable upgrade to the 2012 chassis

i thought the same but it depends on the material of carbon as i have heard from others that the cso material is different as blade072 has said as also for the t3 12 chassis is pretty flexy smokem has alittle bit more but if the track conditions are low grip even medium any of the flexier chassis would be better.also depends on what class your running stock will be good with the cso you can feel the car easier to drive when you change chassis and top deck.

Interestingly this just popped up in the news section on redrc and xray site

http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/new...22163d741052bc

2mm low traction chassis for t3 platform. I guess its xray trying to offer something similar to schumacher with their 2mm soft weave chassis.
I have ordered the cso racing 2.2mm chassis so will let you know how it goes, I figure it should be similar in performance to the xray 2mm chassis
I notice they say to use 0.5mm spacers to raise the bulkheads to the original height, otherwise would be similar to running -0.5mm roll center holders

Its more surprising that when the original T3 came out, guys werent rushing to use the FRP T3R plate on the T3. That FRP plate is about as flexy as you'll ever get.
Is it all more marketing than need ??

Default motor heat

NEWBIE QUESTION!!!

How much can you expect a motor fan w/heatsink to reduce motor temp in this car?

we run 5min races on a small, technical track. Motor temps are 65deg celsius but wanting to gear out a bit longer than my current setup. Running in the 21.5t class, zero drag brake.

Thanks!

i have temped with and with out without i was about 80 to 85 degrees celsius after 6 minutes with i was getting about 70 to 75 degrees celsius but i guess it depends on track temp but it definantley makes it coler for more fan power run fan of the esc.

What make and model of motor are you running, what is the max temp you can run it at?

Sounds like you could gear a bit taller at the moment without a heatsink etc.

its an lrp x12 stock spec 21.5, through a hobbywing 120a speedy (blinky mode)..

in an lrp forum someone is suggesting not to temp over 95deg which intuitively sounds about right. i'm from an offroad background and have historically temped between 70 - 85 without any problems whatsoever.

however, the wise people at the track suggest aiming to come off at around 50deg celcius. this seems very low to me.. do you need to aim for lower temps with on-road???

The LRP's always seem to run very hot, almost everyone I know seems to have theirs coming off between 85-90degC (and they all run fans etc!) so your 65degC is a bit low.. BUT, you need to gear for the best lap times, you can go too far and end up with something that revs a lot and sounds fast but according to the stopwatch isn't.

I've been running a Nosram X12 equivelent 5.0 (Modified Touring) and typically run at about 70*C to 75*C. As I understand it this is well with in tolerances (I need to push it harder). 95*C sounds about right and the upper limit for an X12, these seem to run a bit warmer then some other brands.

A fan and heat sink will take off 5-15* F in my experience.
