Here is what I would say. If your driving is at a point where your running 5-6 min races and not dotting out each run then you would probably benefit from the new car. But if your still bouncing off the walls and breaking often then you need to work on you, more than the car. Also if your t3 is worn and could use new bearings, cvd's etc then it could be worth it. If your consistency is there as a driver then the new car could be a good thing for you. Also if you have 500 bucks that's burning a hole in your pocket lol. Its not going to be a magic 0.3 tenths / lap cause the t3 is a great car. But if your a consistent driver and your decent with setup it should be a good move.

I just had some Xray tapered shims sent to me and one of the shim sets was of a much lighter orange color than the other. Did Xray change the color of their orange anodized die? I ordered these shims for my 966, the darker color matches perfectly but the lighter one is way off.

I am asking this because I was going to order more orange Xray peices when I order my T3 11, and I am really picky when it comes to stuff matching.

What color are the alloy peices on the T3 11, are they the same shade of orange as the T2/T3?

Ran the 11 today on controlled tyre Sweep 40. Car traction roll, stiffen up the spring to XRay blue and Dark Blue now ride height seems to be in the 6mm. Cant turn the caps as they at the fullest. Did i do anything wrong shocks are 3 hole non adjustable with 500 oil.

Good steering, traction lots of it, Followed the stock rubber setup with Moore speed alfa romeo shell car became very aggressive.

Romeo, for the ride height the older colored springs are about 2mm longer so you might need to get the newer black ones.

My T3 and T3'11 both match perfectly. Its possible the shims you got were made of a different grade of alumn since they are shims and different grades will come out different colors. Thats why the shims that come with the newer cars are black and not orange.

Compare the length of the "old" xray springs to the new ones that came with the kit. Maybe they are taller ?

Anyone know if a Futaba receiver can be mounted on it's side and still clear the upper deck and not hang off the side. Trying to vision how to mount it. Thanks.

Why not mount the receiver flat?

I don't want to cut the ear off the servo and shoe goo it. I'm going to have to mount it on the servo or mount it on it's side. If I mount it on the servo it's going to be hard to mount the antenna right. It's hard to gauge how much room there is by looking at the pics. I got a Futaba servo/receiver and a Tekin RS. I also hope my Ballistic motor won't hit the upper deck using a 100t and 38t pinion. I hope it all fits like I want. lol

I'm about 3/4 done building my '11, and I'm pretty impressed with the quality so far. The tolerances are excellent, the only things I found needing attention were some filing of the ends of the top deck to stop it pinching slightly between the bulkhead clamps, and the clamps themselves needed some shimming so as not to compress the eccentric bearing carrier too much, which can cause the 10x15 bearings to wear early. When I'm done I'll post a full build review

This is my first xray after a long time running tamiya

Question: are most people running non-adjustable pistons?
