Can anybody tell me if this would be better than the Epic Duo 2?
Is the D3 better or the same as the D2?
Is is ROAR/whatever legal?

Duo 3 Big Thumbs Up!!!
The Duo3 is a great motor, they have more bottom end than the duo2 and respond to timing very well. They have a nickle plated high quality rotor for longer life. They are lighter and run cooler than duo2...
Hands down great motor!
You will not be dissapointed.

Ok color aside...
Does anyone have any end bell timing/gearing suggestions for spec and open ESC for the DUO 3?
I currently run an LRP X-12 17.5, 2 dot, FDR 4.02 for spec racing.
And I run the same motor but 3 dot FDR 6.6
Boost 50
Turbo 10
Start RPM 5442
End RPM 20000
Turbo Delay .15
Ramp 2.0
I put three runs on my Duo 3 in spec mode but was about .2-.3 sec slower than my LRP. BUT I was coming off the track at 135-140 degrees. So I thru some timing at it but I did gain and speed, so then I added some teeth but still didn't help. I ended up putting my LRP back in since I have big race this weekend and didn't have much time to test.

I had almost the identical experience ( in spec 17.5 ) but I pulled it in favor of a duo 1 which was obviously faster ( the x12 having faster initial laptimes but it fades too much ). I don't recall temps , unfortunately I cannot test the duo 3 for a while, but I'm being told to throw more teeth at it. Let us know what you find out!

I just received my duo 3 and I have a question about the zero timing mark.
If zero is "zero", why would you be able to turn the end bell clockwise to retard timing below zero. In the instructions, Team Epic recommends we don't set timing below the zero mark. I will be running my motor in 17.5 1/12 scale so I turned the motor counter clockwise for full timing since I will be running a no timing speedo class. It also seems that the motor rotates further towards negative timing then it rotates towards positive timing.
Anybody else have any inputs
thanks
