CRC Carpet Knife 3.1
Hi,
I'm thinking about getting into 12th scale and have a line on a CRC Carpet Knife 3.1. However, after searching around, I have found that this was released in 2005...
Does this mean that it's really not the best vehicle because support will be hard as well as parts? This one is already setup with 1S lipo and brushless...
Thoughts?

I would buy something newer, you can find a great deal on a used gen xl if you are wanting a crc

a car from 2005 would be fine. The problem is the CKv3.1 didn't come out in '05, it came out in 1998. Even still, the car will still work very well. The problem is that it was discontinued long before brushless and lipo came out. the lipo part will be fine, but you wont be able to upgrade to a brushless offset rear pod.
If you are going to buy a used CRC car, buy a gen-x car. doesn't necessarily have to be an xl because at least you will have the option to upgrade later if you want, where you won't have the option with the older CK.

The great thing about 1/12th is that older cars can still work and be had for dirt cheap. So don't let anyone tell you a Carpet Knife can't still win.
That being said, a brand new XL is under 200 dollars so why bother?

I don't have a spare $200 at this time but I have this to work with so it has to do. I am not out to be the best but to just have some fun and because we race in heats according to qualifying times, I will be racing with others at my skill level so A mains or F mains it realy dosnt matter to me.

My previous comment was more for the OP than you.
