Will the exchange of the motor mount be a great improvement? normally i´m using the 417 standard motor mount on bite carpet. Does it make sense to use the X oder V5 motor mount? In my opinion the chassis flex will be channged.

Hi all,
I drive just today my trf 417 on a small technical track with med-high grip,
how is possible that to run the car properly I had to take white tamiya spring front and rear? I tried evrything but the only way to avoid a slippy car was hardening spring. Now I'm running smokem fx with x upper deck, I should buy something stiffer?
thanks for help

Congrat's to Viktor on winning his 2nd ETS ever! Looks like it was a very close event, once again running the raceberry top and bottom decks and yokomo centre bulkheads. According to the "chassis focus" tamiya are preparing their own version of the parts for release

I am seriously considering a 417V5 at the moment. I have never had a Tamiya TC before, so I would like to ask some questions about the essential spare parts if someone can help me.
I'm not a fan of plastic/composite front spool outdrives on any car - has anyone tried these before ? http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....ducts_id=13489
Are these the optional springs for the new V5 shocks ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=8150
Are these the correct steering blocks ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=2368
Are these the correct rear hubs ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=2369
Are these suspension arms for the front and rear ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....roducts_id=353
C Blocks ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=2470
Are there any other common breakable parts that I should consider ?
I realise there are one piece and split suspension blocks available, but I want to get used to the car before I start changing those.
Sorry for the long post. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't tried those particular ones, but I use some that I got when Speed Tech RC was selling them, & I love 'em.
Are these the optional springs for the new V5 shocks ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=8150
Those are some of the springs you can use, though I think most of us will use the standard length ones, kinda like these: http://www.speedtechhobbies.com/inde...roduct_id=4820 .
Are these the correct steering blocks ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=2368
Yes, they work on the 416's 417's, TA05's with the IFS suspension, TB03's & I think the TA06 as well.
Are these the correct rear hubs ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....oducts_id=2369
Yes.
Are these suspension arms for the front and rear ?
http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....roducts_id=353
Yes, those are good.
C Blocks ?

Yes.

I think you got most of it covered, though if you do break some front uprights, you also might lose some kingpin parts, so it can be good to keep some extras handy, like this: http://www.speedtechhobbies.com/inde...product_id=886 .

At first I thought they removed the strapping tape just for photos, but then I saw this photo with the car on its side where the battery would have fallen w/o it being stuck to the chassis.

Looking at the REDRC photos of Viktor's car it appears the battery is attached to the chassis via double sided tape. If they are so worried about altering chassis flex with a different top plate, bottom deck and different bulkheads why would they affix the battery "rigidly" to the chassis. It seems counter productive doesn't it?
