Default What parts from 418/419 are suitable and recommended?

Also note the new 419x has gone back to a bulkhead width the same as the 417 probably because it works.
What do you think that are the parts from 418/419 are best for making this car better? Maybe diff? Spool? But the belt changes also if upgrade this parts, correct?

Another thing is the top-deck. Is very difficult to found spare top decks for 417. What can I do?

Any particular parts getting hard to source or just most in general?

The 419 diff, its just far better, doesnt leak as much, better outdrives that last longer. Belts are the same.
The 419 shocks are a bigger bore and have a different feel and stay the same over the run.
The 418 stabilizer kit is easier to adjust.
The 418 rear uprights give a shorter to link and increase the camber gain which helps a lot I have found.
I have found the V5 top desk works best.
Theres a few still around.

Ive had trouble getting drive pulleys and belts.
I cant find any lower decks anywhere, and I mean the V5 flat ones not the original or X version with all the cutouts.

Anyone know the difference between the TRF417X & TRF417X Reedy Race Champion Kit (42235). Read on a site that the only difference was decals???

The chassis on the Reedy version is 2.5mm instead of 2.2mm. The top deck also maybe thicker.

Bezerk RC sells the v5 top and lower decks and can ship them worldwide:

TRF 417 V5 Chassis Std, Bezerk RC

They can even do modifications to the deck to your choosing, like different carbon fibre weaves, thickness, etc.

I have used Bezerk's top and bottom decks on my v5 and been really happy with them.

Default LF : TRF417x 17.5 Blinky setup

Looking for a 17.5 blinky setup for TRF417x running on an outdoor medium asphalt track.

Thanks! 😀

Here are some setup sheets for the 417:
Tamiya TRF417 Setup Sheets & Manual

This setup would be the closest to what I ran:
Tamiya TRF417X - Marc Rheinard - ETS Rd3 - Gran Canaria - 03-04.03.2012

Default Upgrade to TRF418/418 suspension

Hi. Can the TRF417 suspension be upgraded to TRF418/419 spec?

Thanks!
