Default Cracked chassis

My chassis cracked where the rear suspension mount is, should I buy the 417x lower deck or go for the v5 lower deck and servo mount? Assuming that all the bulkheads from the 417x fit onto the v5 lower deck plus the new servo mount.

The V5 chassis is nice but if I replace my 417x chassis I will likely try a Smokem 417fx chassis, or if you can wait get the new Raceberry conversion talked about a few days ago.

Out of stock I will be running on carpet and asphalt and I'd need it by April so probably wont be able to get the Raceberry conversion. How about the 417mx?

Ran the car for the first time yesterday at West Coast and it was a handful. I threw everything but the kitchen sink at it and it was ok by the end of the day. It was just super twitchy. I came from a t3,t2011,and 12 and then a tcxx. I was used to the other cars having a great kit setup. This is my first Tamiya(always wanted one) so I will get it. Anyone have a set up for west coast?

This is my set-up for west coast and it seeming to work pretty well. The car definitely has a lot of traction. On the current layout I was able to get in the 13.7-13.8 with 13.6 being a fast lap when the track was pretty green. Feel free to come over and talk to me about your car the next time you are there. I would be more than happy to help you out.

The Smokem 417MX chassis is a little stiffer for med to high grip tracks so you will have to make that call if it is right for you. It is a high quality piece I have been told.

Exotek used to sell a real nice chassis called the 417XS (extra soft) but I searched all over and cant seem to find one for you. Like this >>

http://www.quantumracing-rc.com/inde...productId=2710

You can get the CSO chassis or complete chassis kit which includes lower and upper decks along with the center servo mount cheap, but it is not all carbon fiber material. It has fiberglass sandwiched in the middle of the chassis plates so you have to decide if you are ok with that.

$49.00 http://www.rc-mushroom.com/product_i...hassis-p-24102

or $45.00 http://www.rc-mushroom.com/images/CSO-TA-1005.jpg

The chassis kit is only $81.00 http://www.rc-mushroom.com/product_i...n-type-p-25485

Personally I would go with something of a better quality though like the Reedy Chassis plates as they are Tamiya quality.

Only $60 from Speedtech just the deck will be stiffer at 2.5mm thick vs. 2.25 for stock 417x chassis. http://www.speedtechhobbies.com/inde...roduct_id=2201

The V5 chassis plate is available for about $80 but it will also be a little stiffer than your 417x chassis plate was, and you will need the $30 TRF center servo mount too or some shoe goo to mount your servo. Lots of choices!!
