Same here, I just finished building mine a few weeks ago & I'm LOVING it, feels SO much better than my old 416WE did(of course, it should since my 416 was over 5 years old & getting pretty worn out). Best deal you're likely to find right now on any 417....

I love my V5 it works fantastic and would say out of the box set-up has plenty of grip assuming you are using the correct tires for the track that you are running on. My suggestion is run it yourself and then make the decision I bet you will probably like it.

Indeed, dont worry the V5 has a lot of grip. The test parts are for the top drivers in the world running 4.5t motors against other top guys at 70mph. These tweaks are just that, it might give them a slight advantage of a couple of tenths over a 5 minute race etc.

Also it has a lot to do with how you drive, I hated the cut mount on the 417 and ran mine on carpet claiming many wins and having lots of grip (17.5) others like the wobbly chassis versions.

Enjoy your V5 and don't worry about the next tweaks you will be able to fit them to your car if you decide you want them

Just be aware the CSO chassis plates have fiberglass sandwiched in the middle and are not solid carbon fiber plates like found from Tamiya, Exotex or Smokem. The CSO chassis may be find for your application though, just be aware of what you are getting before you order.

So this is the reason I keep seeing TRF417's being sold for cheap in the for sale section. I'm not going to give in to temptation, I finally have my 416WE dialled some 5 years later

But just in case I become stupid (birthday coming up):: can someone explain how the TRF417 is at version 5, assuming V5 means that, because I count 4..

42205 TRF417X
