What are the advantages of HPI/Ride springs?
+ one more question. The manual has a odd way of giving droop settings so what is a decent starting point for droop?

For what car? I haven't driven the new V5 but to answer your question..no, the stock setup is pretty bad for low traction.
This setup is for the original 417 but works for the 417x as well. It works really good, easy to drive and is very close to what I run. It works almost everywhere on asphalt and carpet with only spring and oil changes necessary. I use the stock toe blocks in the rear as opposed to the ones listed on the setup sheet.

I was thinking 400 front and rear for the shocks and either 900 or 1k for the diff - Seems to be fairly common

Hi, does anyone have a medium grip carpet setup for the 417x? The track is 4 carpet rolls almost rolled out. I'm running 17.5 blinky.
Thanks
Thanks

getting ready to build my v5. I have a bag of Steel Bevel Gears - For TA06 Gear Diff Unit
Item #54428. Good idea, bad idea or doesn't matter. Thinking of running a 10.5 LRP x20 motor. I'm not racing, just an enthusiast. I crash plenty... so reliability is more important to me than speed
