Tried out new set up for blinky 17.5. Sooooo much traction with bladerless shocks~! Pretty good with this cool weather though~!

What battery holder is that? Custom? Or is it the one from the new trf417. Im looking to shave off some weight if anyone has any ideas.

Those are just servo holders. I forgot from what chassis. I think it was from my TA05 V2.

are they not just AE shocks, TC5 bottoms with B4 tops etc, As for the servo mount CSO racing do one.

Going through my old stock I found new in packages;

TC5 top shock busings with 3mm thread #31250
TC3 shock kit #3990
TC3 unobtainium(sp)shock shaft #3964
TC3 shock caps #6443
CSO servo mount
HPI silver spings
TRF spring retainers

I just wanted to try this set up first before I spend $550 on another car. Tamiya is doing something that's been done a long time ago. When I ran a TRF414M back in the day, I used similar shocks from my MR4TC with bleeder tops and TA04 front and rear gear diffs. I think my TA04 gear diffs had metal bevel gears inside too.

New Smokem 417FX chassis and Smokem 417CTR servo mount ordered.

Interesting and somehow funny

. And you find you have lot's of grip, so that kind of shocks may be a good thing after all. I never liked that rebound idea anyway.

Would you mind posting a setup sheet?

I would love to just keep my 417X and just buy a set of those new shocks. I hope parts are available shortly after!

What would people change on this setup to get the rear end to be a bit more stable and have a little more general rear end grip. It has lots of steering which i need to keep as the tracks i race on are very tight.
