where is the best place to buy the 417x in the US? I tried finding one the other day but no one seemed to have any.

Did you try speedtechrc.com? You may have to order new from overseas or buy used.

Good luck finding a 417X in stock anywhere in the world...out of stock seems to be a common response to the question!

I have a TCS Regional A-main winning 417x that I'm willing to take offers on. I can do a complete car minus receiver (low pro Spektrum S6070, Tekin Speedo, Thunder Power 13.5 motor) on, or just a roller. Make me an offer for paypal only. Low ballers need not apply...

One of the last distributors that has these raised their price over our selling cost! Call us if you're interested

They made a running change on this part for the 417 to clear the snap ring. So even though the part number is the same, there are two different versions. Sounds like you have the older 416 version.

Several...
Sand the housing ensuring the the gasket surface is flat, and
Use ASE Green Slime lube on the o-ring & gasket, or
Replace the o-ring with a Kyosho o-ring (but this will make the action feel slightly heavier)... part # several pages back...

Say what ?? The price on Tower is ridiculous. Love Tamiya, but not enough to pay that much. I'll stick with my 416 for the time being.

Banzaihobby.com have the 417X Reedy Race Champion Edition for approx $618USD. I just bought one from them and have used them before - just like Speedtech RC - good service.

what success? the current deck as seen at the worlds with no holes in was 2.25mm

its pretty normal for trf cars to be hard to find this time of year it happened with the previous 416 /417 models too, i still think no new car until around december as per previous years.

I noticed no holes, I thought they were 2.5mm... Every article I've read recently mentions "the new 417x lower deck"
