add a bit of silicone gasket maker (the one used for cars, usually is red, black or clear) around the edges of the fat side (side without the pulley) before putting both halves together... so far its worked for me.

Anyone knows any other brands of spur gears (48 and 64 pitch) that fit the new TRF417? I've tried the Kawadas and they don't fit.

Mod up an NT1 diff, it's 100 times better than the Spec R and not that hard to do

I've had the Spec-R diff in my car since mid-September. Took it apart this weekend to re-build and re-oil it, and it really doesn't seem to have leaked much at all! Probably looking at 10 race meetings so 50 odd runs in 13.5 class.

Spoken to other people who've also run it, and since they've fitted the X-rings, no problems with leaking at all.

Will admit to not having even looked at the NT1 diff, may have to do that.

Syndr0me - I'd suggest if you are having problems with it leaking then it may be worth taking it apart to make sure it's built correctly.

And exactly what would one need to do to make it to work?

what sizes pignion are most commenly used ?
I would like to end up with ratio between 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7
Just need to know what size pinion to buy ...
gear ratio = (spur teeth/pinion teeth)x 2.055 for the TRF416
is it (2.055)the same for TRF 417 ?

Using a 19T center pulley, the secondary gear ratio reduction becomes 1.94, which is very close to the ideal rate for brushless motors
is what I could find trough google, guess that aswers the question right ?
