Tire selection (or worn vs new tires) and Insert choice can alter droop as well.. Something to keep in mind during a practice session when searching for that rite Tire/Insert combination..

I always use setup wheels while setting up the car to avoid this problem

Hi. Ive just put split blocks on the rear of the front suspension,What i was wondering is wether i need to put spacers under them. When it had the flipped from block on they had 5mm spacers under them. I have tried to search but nothing comes up on here.

Thanks

Well if you are trying to run the front blocks flat on the chassis then no, but if you are running higher front full center or anti dive then you will need to install shims. The split blocks do not require shims to get them flat with the front block.

2mm under the split blocks will give you the same height.

That is providing the flipped block is an italic writing original block.

Check out the Tryhard website willgive you more insight.

Sorry, but split blocks do not need to be shimmed in order to run flat pins on the chassis and maintain level arms. Unless of course you are trying to raise the roll center or trying to run anti-squat or anti-dive, then shims are required.

I am assuming of course a 417 Chassis...

I would contact Fred over at Tamiya USA and see if they will share the logo artwork...don't think so but it is worth a shot.

No i'm running rubber. Nobody runs foams anymore. It isnt a wheel or shock length issue. it is in the droop or downstops as they've described. the fault has to be with my tuning. but i cant get more than 4mm out of it right now. so some extra tweaking and i should be right

His question was how many shims under split blocks if he has 5mm under a flipped block.

The answer is 2mm.

What do the separate suspension blocks do for the car that you don't get with the once piece? And these are only run in the front, yeah?

They let the chassis flex more giving more grip, sometimes at the expense of corner speed. Can be used both ends depending on what you are looking for
