Default 417

Is the 417 a much better car on asphalt then carpet? It seems to excel outdoors!

Hi Haywood,

Yea I think the general oppinion is that the 416 was better on carpet than the 417 models - however the 417 has more steering for outdoor.

I can agree with that. I had a lot better time on carpet with the 416 than the 417. I really liked the 416 in pristine conditions, like new carpet at a big race such as IIC. On our club track, it was quite a challenge to be consistent with either car. The XRay has been a much better choice in that regard.

Anyone know what chassis Marc was running? It does not have the normal fan scoop cut outs that every tamiya chassis seems to have. Is this the new worlds chassis maybe?

His RROC and ETS setups are on his blog, both say 2.25mm chassis so I would assume its all new. Hope they release it before the new car

How often do they release new cars? Like about when would you expect a new car?

hi guys just gave my 417x it's first real shake down, I'm running boosted 13.5 and ran with a 5.7 FDR. It's punchy and quick which I'm really happy with but it's twitchy as anything when it's at full tilt, what are the best scenarios to stable it out a little bit?

Thanks in advance

What setup/surface?

If you are running kit, then yes it's a bit unstable in fast classes, try Marc's RROC setup www.marcrheinard.net. You will need some option parts like split blocks

it's mid to low asphalt. Off power it's loose as a goose as well. Need some split blocks and hpi springs like you suggested.
