Hi, has anyone tried if fits a 38 pinion with 98 spur gear? Are the motor mount holes long enough?

Tamiya ones are stronger than arrowmax and the pins are retained with clips instead of grub screws so wont snap

So, I sold my TC6 (first TC) and I am looking into a Tamiya.
Here's the question...I can get a 416x with Exotek chassis, gear diffs, ball diffs, and parts for about 250 less than the 417x. Is it worth the extra coin to get the 417x? It will only be run on asphalt.

anyone know where i can buy the 3mm metric screws used in the 417x kit (or something similar)? they are super nice....

Just buy a 417x. Take all the screws and give me the rest of the car. I'll even pay the shipping.

Just go to your local nut and bolt shop and buy them.

You can also buy tamiya spares in alloy or there are titanium sets available


But can be expensive, local nut bolt store will be your best and cheapest option.


I bought heaps and keep them as spares

i've already done that through mcmaster.com for my existing touring cars. the screws on a 417x just look so nice... i'd like to have them on all of my cars (without buying them from tamiya usa in packs of 4 pcs)

Has anyone used ta-53826 on trf417?
The problem is that it is necessary to use the washer, but if they put it on top of hub, so ballstud deep enough screwed into the hub.

PS: I bought a DCJ by tamiya, let's see how good they are

Well the 53826 is a little longer in the top kingpin the org. ones, so I guess u need a 1mm or 2mm skim besides the 7mm which comes which the kit.

I installed how in the photo, the lower king pin mounted flange down and 1mm washer between the hub and ballstud.

Why not use the top flange mount on the bottum with the flange from the inside of the C-hub?
This will create less room so you need a thinner spacer(the blue one)
