Diff pictures below. The new diff is impressive. Only retains the bearings, pulley and diff balls. Outdrives, diff rings, diff screw, thrust assembly all new. Screw and thrust same as on TRF201.

More @ http://kentech.blogs.se and more tomorrow..

Will the new diff work in the 416?

Great photos Kenneth! Keep them coming.

Don't forget to let us know of the driving impressions especially when compared with the 416X.

Thanks.

Sweeeet, thanks! How about that pretty new steering rack? Much as I'd love a 417, this just isn't the right time for me to change platforms. Doesn't mean I wouldn't mind putting a few of the updates on the ol' X, though.

The new posts are shorter but it would fit if you changed everything but the arms so you would need the rack and the shorter posts. The holes are in the same location. Cool thing is you need less shimming for acerman now since the piece is bigger. No more need for the stronger screws no bending going on here anymore.

Cool, thanks for checking that. You see anything else new that might be backward compatible?

Are the camber link ballstud positions on the bulkheads in the sams spot as the 416.

What's the advantage of the new loose ball thrust, the one piece one looks better to use.

The middle hole on this car is the inner hole on the 416. The bulkheads on this car are 2mm narrower than the 416.

With the rear motor screw accessed via the large outer holes in the spur gear, it looks like if you want to change to 64dp you'll have to make sure that the screw can still be reached through the spur?

Alot of the updates on the 417 look similar to what was done on the TCX. Can't wait until they are released in the US in the next couple of weeks.
