I believe it's D-ring / locked plates which is the main change...

Seems like he is not using the new Spec R diff ??

Pls enlighten me if I am wrong.

Anyone know how big is the difference between the normal ball diff in the kit and the Spec R diff ??

I find going from a gear diff to a ball diff a pretty big change. On somewhat high traction carpet, I prefer the gear diff in every sense. I think the car reacts better, it's faster, and requires very little maintenance. Others with the same car on the same surface hated it. I think like so many things in RC, theres no definitive right or wrong. It's just a matter of finding what's right for you. Decide that for yourself, it's the only way.

From what I can guess it's to help minimize wear in the mod class to avoid belt slippage. You might be able to run a slightly looser belt since the teeth in the pulley tend not to change as much as they would with a plastic pulley. It could also be that some of the team guys were breaking pulley's in the 416 in high traction situations - I know I've never broken one but I also don't run 3.0 turn motors boosted either.

I think the box that fits the built chassis and has room for other stuff for storage/transport will be missed!

Thanks for sharing, it's exciting seeing new products!

No I cannot. The picture is from a danish RC website, posted by the danish Tamiya-import. Not my own picture. Sorry.
