That picture of all the 417 kits isn't the 417X though I'm afraid. If you take a look at the 'RC Adviser Champ' website, scroll about halfway down the page, and you'll see the same photo, with the filename 'top_20101217_trf417.jpg', so it's the standard 417 kits from 2010/12/17.

Does anyone know when the 417X will realistically be available? I've read an 'official' release date of December 12th, but will it actually be available before that in some countries?

It was even more impressive in person. He did post his set up on tamiyaUSA.com website if you look on the left you can see he has his 417 comments and set up posted.

Attached is the setup I ran from the Speedtech Grand Prix, I ran the 17.5 no timing class. I loved the car, the setup was spot on, too bad the driver isn't so hot.

Anyway, for those of you running in similar conditions maybe this will help, basically what Jilles told me to do in his thread.

I didn't have time for any practice and I crashed out of heat #1 with my battery tape getting cut. So no time to try a gear diff out back or up front, but I think I could have knocked off another 0.2 or 0.3 per lap in all honesty. I felt like my car was lacking some forward bite on corner exit. Corner entry and mid corner was an improvement over the kit setup on this track.

Take a peek, feel free to ask questions if you have any (or laugh at me too!)

Thanks,

Brett

anyone know the part number for a 417 replacement motor mount (Tamiya calls it center bulkhead)?

My manual lists an 8 digit part number, but I can't find the part using that number on the Tamiya web site!

Default Chassis question

I was interested in the new Exotech chassis's.

Running boosted 17.5 carpet, do you want the "flex" chassis or the "hard" chassis.

Thanks Greg G
