I was at the German Championship with my Rebel too. Robert Klier made TQ AND did win the Championship with three perfect runs. Fast as hell.
He made the speedo flat as possible, micro switch for on/off, put weights in the middle under the batteries and used washers at the links to tighten the screws and have no play in the links, but they are moving real good. Rest will follow because I'm in contact for my race review with him.
I only made 49th of 67 by the way.

First run A-Main 10.5

Second run A-Main 10.5

And of course in the front the white/red/black car is the one of Robert Klier, the new German Master EB 1/12 Pancar.

In the beginning of April the European Championship 1/12 Stock will be on myrcm.ch with Live timing. Robert also will be there.

IMO, the natural aluminum looks really good. Black ano also looks nice. Black and red combo.........not so much.

an oh-so-pretty alloy chassis for my Rebel would not be out of the question. But, at least for now, I'm having a little fun with the Yokomo......and trying to understand why it can so easily do things that I've always wanted my more "conventional" 1/12th scale cars to do.

I would think it is im the realm of possibilities to have one made up for the yokomo, if you're interested.

Here is my setup from the 2016 MHIC. I finished 3rd overall in the Mod 1/12 A main. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Chris, Is the yok green side spring softer or harder than the top black ones?

Hi Ralph! The Yokomo Green side springs are much softer than the TOP Black springs. I believe the only side spring that is softer than a Yokomo Green is the Yokomo Purple, but I am not super familiar with all of the options available in Japan. I personally think the TOP Black is somewhere around the AE Silver in terms of stiffness, so the difference from the TOP Black to the Yokomo Green is huge.

Here is a rough chart of how I feel the side springs compare:

Softest

Yokomo Purple
Yokomo Green
Yokomo Black (there are two versions, both are softer than AE Black. I don't use them, though, since they are very difficult to identify and keep separate.)
AE Black
AE Olive
TOP Black
AE Silver
etc.

Stiffest

Thanks Chris, You were running a McFactory chassis with "inboard" side springs or standard (over side links) configuration?
