The Yatabe Arena outside Tokyo is have asphalt. But perhaps some kind of treatment abowe it.
Check with Yokomo. They should know, as they use it as there test track. The surface is just superflat.

we had an indoor track years ago that had out door none slip paint and what we did was mix in fine sand to give it an asphalt texture and worked great yes we ran foam. Problem is you have to be careful what traction compunds you use and no nitro cars they make the paint soft and when dried flakes.
If your indoors invest and buy the carpet.
also you have to paint a to of coats remember get the sealer for concrete and then paint over it with the none slip stuff.
YOU HAVE TO SEAL THE CONCRETE!
AND MAKE SURE THE PAINT IS FOR CONCRETE OR ELSE IT WILL PEEL AN FLAKE!!!!
