Not sure of when, but Tamiya does show a part number for an m06 with the Alfa shell.

Ok good.. Appart from the fact that Tamiya should stick to propper mini bodies.. I know the alfa is small car in RL but seriously..
Its such a crash in style.. Better of with a NSU or beetle or... any suggestions? BMW 1-series?

A Opel perhaps.. they made a "hatchback" with RWD

Hi all,

I've been following this thread for a while now before and after getting my M06. I noticed there has been no mention of Tamiya's BMW M Roadster bodyshell, so I though I would show that it also fits the M06. I managed to pick up one of these shells up from eBay, and you will see the obvious reason I wanted it from the later pics!

We have been experimenting with touring car tyres (the M Roadster kits originally came with larger size wheels than other M chassis kits), so once we find the best tyre combination for my local club I'll put them on the original M Roadster wheels I managed to get a hold of. Please excuse the small mini wheels in the pics!

The body fits over the chassis fine but we had to use some older rear body posts from, I believe an M02, to allow the rear to sit low enough and to line up with the predrilled body and aerial holes.

I'm deciding on what to get an m05 or m06, never had a tamiya mini before which chassi do you guys prefer and which one is more better to drive? Also which one has more steering in corners?

i am little messy confuse to get grip and control on carpet surface using tamiya radial rubber tires : S grip and M Grip

I am quite satisfied setup using foam tire. The car very fast and very controlable, consistent and easy to drive using 13 turn BRUSHLESS....i give comprehensive detail setup , Hope anyone can give me great feed back to tamiya ruber tire setup for me

track very small and technical....wide 2 meter only per line and lenght only 16 m, the surface medium grip M05 no problem at all using front m grip and rear m grip tires

the car cannot push to the limit and unconstant to drive......i am not satisfied

uneasy to get grip using tamiya radial tire.....if you put inner more inside the tire....you feel grip only couple laps onlY. I PUT TAMIYA SLICK A AT FRONT ....to much steering as well

ANYONE SUCCEED setup using low quality tamiya radial tire?????


PLEASE SHARE with me I SAW TIRE IS THE GOLDEN KEY....How come tamiya made very bad tire for TCS race????

I race my M06 successfully on carpet - but not MWB (prefer the quicker steering/change of direction of the SWB)

Here's my setup

SWB with Honda S800 bodyshell

Front

Std 60D Radial c/w kit inserts (for slicks - Sweep 33) – no additive
TRF Dampers, 3 hole piston (1 black ‘o’ ring under piston)
35wt oil
Blue spring
50% rebound
Ride height 5mm
Camber 1.5°
1° toe out

Rear

60D ‘S’ Grip c/w kit inserts (for slicks - Sweep 25) – full additive
TRF Dampers, 2 hole piston
35wt oil
Yellow spring
50% rebound
Ride height 4mm
Camber 2.5°
2° toe in rear hubs

what kind motor are u using at....? slow motor like mabuchi 540 j is easy to get right race setup....my motor using 28t lightly tune , ESC LRP qc3 , batery 4000 30 c turnigy uneasy to get right setup

Hi,

I´m also not running MWB, but LWB.
But maybe I can give some input, as I´m also sorting out problems with spec tires. I made the same experience: on some special carpets, the m-Grips stick better than the S-ones. On tarmac the S-grips can´t be beaten, and forget the m-grip in the rain. (like ice)

I always use the hard foam inserts f/r and try in the meantime to use te same tire front/rear, to get more steering and to keep my stuff simple.
On the setups, I went from kit to very soft on a TEC race, now getting back to the harder side on our outdoor track. Currently running on S-Grips all around.
At the weekend I made good experience to reduce travel and droop in the rear, which stabilized the car a lot.
I run the Carson Cup machine with 3000 Nimh, Lipo just for training.
Well, for sure my setup is not 100% perfect at the moment, but maybe you can get some input from it. As I noticed this evening, it´also works in the rain, which is always a good sign to me.
I was able to really push it to the limit, and on some 180° curves to throw it around by the brake, to reduce curve radius...

But you´re right, with a little more power than 540, it´s way more difficult to setup the RWD. So I appreciate this thread and the enthusiasts here a lot, let´s sort out some good setups together!

thanks mathias realy appreciate your great setup on tarmac....on our trophical country which humidity and temp very high using slick A tamiya on the rear and hard inner as well

I try LWB on carpet ...the car can flow ....but cannot push to the limit....SWB much better...but realy upset what tamiya tire at MO6 pro
in our club carpet circuit....M05 using F/R M grip realy easy to setup...we can use 28t tamiya motor or black can and the car can handled those motor
