Default Protoform or HPI; Can someone make this body?

Just got done watching the Rolex championship race on Speed. There's been a lot of talk about RCGT bodies at my local track WCRC lately. However, I noticed that most RCGT bodies are all the Jap "Fast and Furious/ Tokyo Drift" JDM bodies. The only American style GT body is the Mustang from HPI and that is already old. The Camaro has been out for some time now so how about it?

HPI is allegedly working on a new Camaro. They are also working on some new American Muscle for VTA. I've seen photos of the bodies but no release date have been set.

HPI also makes a Corvette which passed that car (or its teammate) in the last few laps for the win. I watched the race too, it was one of the better i've seen this year.

HPI also makes some great German cars which race in that series or the American LeMans series. With a little creativity (or a vinyl cutter) you can recreate some of those cars.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one looking for this body

That's nice but its only available with the Sprint RTR in Europe. It doesn't seem to be available as a separate body parts kit. Could probably live with the 200mm width.

I just think its strange that a Camaro body be released in Europe and not in the U.S. Whats up with that?

Not only that but they also have a nicer looking vintage Camaro Z28 body over there than the VTA one we have here.

I would not be suprised if this shell is indeed 200mm front and 210 in the rear.

Supposedly both of those bodies, among others, are supposed to be available here. We have been in a holding pattern for them since spring.

Mcallister bodies makes a Camaro, it is an oval body. Might be able to make it work.

Well, here is some good news: That orange with white hood stripes '69 Camaro body is now on the HPI USA site; however, it is only sold with the Sprint 2 car and not as a seperate piece, yet. Hopefully HPI will make that body available seperately. They also plan on releasing the 2010 Camaro body here as well. I found this info on the RC Car Action forums and on the HPI website.

I wouldn't even qualify that as Camaro body. Its just an oval body with Camaro stickers.

sliding_josh, are you referring to the '69 HPI Camaro body that YR4Dude posted a pic of?

Be nice if HPI or Protoform can make a Aston Martin body for 190mm and 200mm
