Default What is the difference Duo 2 and Nemesis?

Just trying to figure out the difference between these two models. They are the same price! Does anybody have any knowledge about these motors?

I can only comment on how they work in oval racing. the Duo 1 and 2 seem to work well. Good power and durability. Gearing is similar to other brands.

Nemesis did not have the torque of the Duo's and needed a lot less rollout. The road course guys liked the nemesis as it had better cooling than the duo's. Supposedly the setup is to run no timing or even take timing out of the motor.

Some claim the duo 1's are better than the 2's but I have been running the 2's for the last year with good luck. There is now a duo 3 out as well. will be getting one of those to try out.

Do you have a link on this? I couldn't find anything on the internet about a Duo 3.

I just googled "team epic duo 3". First link has page full of them. If you click on one of the motors you'll see they aren't out just yet though. It says October 2010.

They are not even out yet on Epic's site. Horizon is a distributor so they get some information early.

Nemesis in not as good as the duo's. A lot of people claim that the Duo 2 is better than the Duo 1 if you set the static motor timing correct for your speedo set up.

We have the distributor of EA duo motors at our club and he says that the Duo 1 and 2 are the same motors just the 2 has full adjustable timing and the 1 has 3 pegs. I have both and love them both, out of the two I couldn't choose.

Cant really comment on the nemesis.

Exactly, it is all on the motor timing.

What is the D3 designed for? This statement really narrows it down "motor designed for 2 & 4wd, 1/12th & 1/10th on-road, oval and off-road."
Looks like better cooling (holes in the can) than D1 and D2 motors.

Nemesis is teh suck! I don't know anyone who likes them.

The DUOs are better no matter what class you are running. Nemesis is just as bad on 1s as they are on 2s.
