Default Did I get the wrong glue for Tamiya kit?

I got my Tamiya Dark Impact kit today and am excited to start.....however when I got to the hobby shop just before close I was unable to find the TAMIYA INSTANT CEMENT specified in the kit as the glue.

I got some Revell Contacta Professional instead.

Is this the right glue or was I about to stuff the kit up?

You should get instant cement meant for gluing rubber tires (they will/should have it at the hobby store - just let them know what you need it for - any brand would do) - CA glue for tires are much thinner than general modeling glue. The Revell glue is meant for plastic parts - not sure how well it will work on rubber tires, but I believe it will be more difficult in any case to apply due to its greater viscosity.

Have fun assembling the kit!

Don't use the Revell glue for the tires.

Indeed for the tires use CA. Does the manual mention any other use for the glue ? Let us know.

I have read that the tamiya instant cement is basically superglue.

The use in the kit is for more than just the tyres but seems to be in only a few spots.

I think I will get some superglue just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the help.
