I just built my super E and the front drive train is not smooth. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried cutting everyother tooth off like some guys do on xray or losi?

Default Gear or Ball Diffs

I went with the ball diffs and have not had any problems. I know some have gone with the front one-way also. You could try and put some 30,000 weight Mugen diff lube in it to see if that will help........I would go ball diff or front one-way.

Silvercup - Where you answering my question about the front drive train? If you where I should clarify not the diff action, but freeness of the drive pulley and diff pulley rolling freely. Also which way does the super E work best 280mm or 300mm length?

Yeah, I'm sorry, I was referring to the diffs. 280mm has been better in my expirience. Mine is not that free either, but the car still performs well.

Silvercup - Are all of you guys running brushless systems? If so which ones? Is it possible to run a brushed motor? What wind works best? How long are your guys races 4,5,6, or 8 minutes?

alien too originally they where running brushed motors I was the only one running brushed. I started out with a Br00d 19 turn similar to a Reedy 19 turn but it didn't have enough punch in the straight away but was pretty good in the infield. I ended up running a Reedy KR 12 turn and a Reedy Ti 12 turn and that was much better. The brushed motor they where running was equivalant to a 10 turn but they also had many issues with thermaling. I can't tell you much on the brushed motor since I never tried it with the exception it is pretty fast.

We started with the brushless system and got sick and tired of the motor thermalling. You are leading a race and all of a sudden the car stops because it's too hot. We went all through the gear charts trying to get it ironed out to no avail. It was frustrating to say the least. I am with Allen, the 12 turn doubles and singles are the way to go. We even have tried as low as a 10 turn and it is tough to make run time and you can get enough gear out of it without cooking the motor, we had to gear it around a 19 tooth pinion and a 87 spur. It is a extremely fun car with the brushed motor.

Not sure on the part # but I am pretty sure it needs to be a 39 tooth and not the 32 tooth. I hope that helps alien too.

Post Team Br00d

Contact Eddie Goodridge at info@teambr00d.com and send him an email with you questions and request. I can also get them for you if I have them in stock. at this time, all I have are Team Br00d GP 3300 matched packs and they are loose cells.

When their site is up and running, you will be able to place orders online then. Their website is www.teambr00d.com

Eddie is very good about responding to his customers needs and requests, just shoot him an email and he'll get right back to you.

They also have a thread in Electric Onroad
