I suspect the body change will fix your issue. R9 body is very nose heavy.
Also have a look at the under side of your rear arms. In high grip the wheels will flex enough to drag on the "stiffening" ribs under the tear arms.

Maybe a reduction in rear toe, in addition to raising the rear roll-center and more rear camber. Should smooth it out.

thanks guys for all the response. i started with high roll centers. both in front and rear. (hinge pin further from the chassis). i then lowered it. (pin closer to the chassis) it seemed to be slightly better lower. but none the less, it was still present. in regards to rear toe. i started at 2degrees. i went to three and then to zero. it was present in all situations. camber is at 2degrees. the only other thing i can think of is that the diff is too soft. Maybe 2000 weight would help. almost like the car is diffing out.

mike haynes iic vegas setup is showing #1 upper shock hole position. which seems extreme to me. I have three setups i going to try tomorrow. im going to start with his and tweak it for my driving style. i'll update the results.

i always get roll center mixed up. sorry. but right now the pins are closest to the chassis. i started with pins highest from the chassis.

ill look and keep you posted. yes im going to run the mazda. thats what my s411 liked and i like the feel of the body.

i have not. i was using serpent yellow in front and whites in rear. for serpent, thats as soft as i could get it. i actually went to the stock silver associated springs and the car did exactly the same thing, and was as fast.
my thought is either i the diff or the car simply has too much traction. i dont know. this car is all new to me.

Howdy,

For Michiana I ran a set-up very similar to Kevens' GR set-up with a few tweaks for personal feel. If you don't have the Yoke springs I would run silver silver.

TBH, that set-up will get you 90% there for any carpet track. Even then I mostly tune with front dope application, droop and camber. For carpet just stick with the Mazda.

thanks Mike, I printed that out. its very similar to the setup i just put on the car this morning with a few differences. . i'll post my findings after racing tomorrow.

Here is my setup from the weekend. I came home third behind two very good Xray T4 drivers. Fastest laptimes were matching. This setup has a very direct steering without having any oversteer:

Default RSD Dual Cardan Joint binding

I just built two sets of the RSD DCJs. Two of the DCJ barrels are binding pretty badly due to a tight fit.

Will this work it's self out after a few laps or should I try to sand some of the surfaces?

Also is there a reason some of the set screws are black while others are silver?

Walter, what I usually do is try to match a barrel to each axle individually. Usually you can find 4 barrels that match with the 4 axle holes. The tight fit should work itself out, but please break them in at 1/4 throttle on the bench by turning the wheels lock to lock for about 1 min.

They are made to be a little bit tighter so that they don't have a lot of slop. Use some black grease on them before you run them in though.

The silver screws are the new "knurled" set-screws, these hold much tighter than the previous version of the set screws.

Cristian, is there any instructions where to drill the hole the worlds chassis , for your floating servo mount?
