No, I dont think so but it does help build shocks with 0 rebound. Although I couldnt get 0 with the stock bladders. With the RSD ones I can.

Default anyone interested

Anyone suggest what size rear turnbuckle I can change to? 1.75 or 2
Would like to try the longest setting.


My other kit went together flawless, only change to the kit was putting in RSD bladders.

Default Tre question

What tires and wheels are recommended for a new guy for playing in parking lot and trying out a road course?
Are wheel brand specific for tc6?

Any 1/10 wheel for a 12mm hex should work. For parking lot bashing I'd recommend an HPI wheel of your choice and a set of the 26mm d-compound x-pattern tires.

does anyone know where you can get the Yokomo Pink and Yokomo Blue springs that Kevin is using? I cant every find them anywhere.

Hi Jason,

They have been hard to get for a while. you could try tonisport.de but it is in europe so it can be a little harder to get. I had gotten mine at rcdriftspeed.com I think they used to carry some yokomo but dont think they do anymore.

At this point if you cant find them, I would suggest going to RSD blue front and silver rear. that is what I ran for the most part at IIC ! I switched for the second qualifier and I didnt really go faster but the car felt slightly easier to drive with the yokomo spring. The rating should be very similar to rsd blue and silver but the number of coil and size of the spring affects it so they feel a little different but then again, it was more of a feel thing than faster laptimes.

Default New to touring cars and bought a tc6.1

So I could not resist the price on the tc6.1 and so I pulled the trigger on one. I race offroad and newb to electric onroad racing (I've raced nitro 1/10 before).

Are there any suggested modifications, hop ups, etc. that I should work into the build?

This is what I have on the way with my FT kit. I'm a n00b to pro-level TC cars, but this is what I thought was good based on research I did:

AE gear diff (for front)
AE Worlds Car bearing caps & shock towers (for vertical ballstud conversion)
Zeppin Spring Steel Gear Diff Outdrives (two pair)
A-Plus spring steel CVDs (two pair)
RSD TC6 Belt Tensioner/Battery Spacer
RSD Battery Hold Down Kit
RSD TC6 Fan Mount
RSD Tuned Spring Set
RSD Soft Bladders
RSD Delrin Pistons
Spec-R Rear Belt

I did the WC upgrade minus the chassis so the shock towers and vertical braces. I also did the RSD pistons (1,1.5,1.5) and bladders. I also ordered the RSD battery hold down.

With that you should be good to go for now.

No need to buy WC shock towers to convert an FT. Just use the 6.1 shock towers with the WC bearing caps by triming off camber link mount holes.

Actually the car is awesome right out of the box. Depending on funds you might want to give it a go as is and add stuff you think you need later.

The one time saving thing that I would recommend before the build is decide what setup you are going to start with and put in the right shock parts (pistons and bladders) and oils (diff and shocks) from the start and save yourself some hassle later. I like the RSD 1x1x1.5 pistons and the soft bladders. But really the stock parts and kit setup are a great place to start.

If you order the RSD items the spring kit is nice also.

What do you mean by trimming off the camber link mount holes? Are you talking about the camber holes on the stock FT shock tower?

Yes, the 6.1 FT carbon fiber shock tower needs to be trimmed to fit the WC bearing caps.
