Someone a few posts back told me a good starting point is 4 for the fdr. I need to know what a good starting point is for 17.5 blinky

The guys at my track told me 3.52 for 17.5 blinky . Guessing that will change depending on the track but would think it is a good starting point .

Is your track small,medium, or large size? And does it have a long straightaway? Oh and is it carpet or asphault? Sorry for all the questions.

Asphalt and track is 220x125 .

FDR is virtually identical for blinky 17.5 and VTA at Leisure.

3.5ish is safe to start for either class... drivetrain, driving style, and motor temp will dictate how much lower you can go.

On a smaller track, FDR for either class may end up between 3.5 and 4ish to start.

I run my 17.5 Tekin RS Pro "blinky" 48pitch 39t / 72t around 3.9 fdr.

I run a 4.0 in 17.5 blinky. Most at my track gear a little higher but my motor seems to be happiest around a 4.0. This is on a medium sized indoor track. On an outdoor track the gearing will be a bit different. Either way a 4.0 should be a very safe starting point assuming nothing is bound up in your car.

for Thunder RC Raceway here in Nashville,TN...Im at 3.7 FDR and 30 deg time on the motor for VTA, and 4.0 FDR and 35 deg time in 17.5 TC stock...both TC6 with temps below 120 deg

what turn and brand motor do you guys recommend for mod. also what gearing is being used in mod with this car?

help i cant fine the 3 by 8 bhc bolts that hold the rear boby mount to the tower. are they in a bag. later in the kit. do i need to call ae ? i looked for a few hours
