So I ran a 51/96 and it was ok but apparently the motor is only like 140 so I guess I'll gear up one or two more. Could use a little more straightaway

Did some adjustments after the race and is working ok

Look forward to the next race

Blinky 17.5 Revtech motor full timing advance towards the +

Any comments ...lol

I race 96/48 in my tc-6 with Blinky 17.5 Revtech motor and it work perfect in the infield like strethgway too,so i think that it depend wich track you race !!

Cheap ones, change each event.

Forget ceramics, they will not give you 0.1sec per lap, 0.1sec per lap give more training and learning how to set car

yes i have good tips for you ,listen try to get lunch before tighten or adjust the screws

From what I have seen on the revtechs, back off the timing about 1 notch. ! from full seems to be the sweet spot on those. I would prolly go up in gear like you suggested, the guys at my track who run the revtechs run it around 3.6-3.5, even though its a small track.

Bob Stellflue and I were both running an LRP stock-spec ESC with the settings::0,0,0,10.

We were also running stock reedy 17.5 sonic motors with the timing advanced up to the motor screw. This gearing seemed well suited to the track we were on.

What is the advantage of running no lipo cutoff on the ESC. I'm just curious why you would turn off the lipo cut off.

No real reason, I guess. In my own mind it's more efficient. No cut off to worry about. I only run the battery 6 minutes at a time anyways.

Default spool vs slipper spool

Hey guys, I just picked up a tc6 and I'm trying to set it up, but I'm not sure what the difference between them are. What are the characteristics of each. Spool or slipper spool, what's better for asphalt 17.5 stock spec? Any info is appreciated.

I would start with a 4.0FDR and go from there. With 110ft straight, You'll most likely end up around 3.91 or so with a 96 Spur. I would use the "...." or "..." insert and tune for about 170 degrees or so. If the car feels flat, take some of the timing out and re-gear.

I always ran mine very tight. The main difference is that the slipper is more forgving. Instead of breaking parts, the spool "slips" and allows less fatigue on parts. The solid spool is lighter, more direct and will provide a bit more steering on-power.
