LIPO Package and Charge Cycles
Hi guys, I am planning to convert to lipo. I have been doing research and found that in order to use Lipos safely, i need the following items:
1) Low voltage alarm and buzzer (not sure how to use it while running the car)
2) Fire proof bag during charging
3) Charger with built in balancer or jus buy a stand-alone balancer while can be used during normal charging as well.
Did i leave out anything? And how many cycles can lipos be charged? I heard is only about 400 compared with nicd/nimh of 1000 cycles...
And the battery cables are sticking out from the top, hence some chassis like TT01E cant fit? Because the battery holder is blocking the cables?

I think you've got the numbers reversed! Never seen a round battery get 1000 cycles and still be usable!!! Lipos if treated right will last a Loooong time. The Lipo sack is really a safety thing. A MUST in my book...even if it's just used for transportation and storage!

Your list looks good, a couple of warnings though, the balancer you use, wether in a charger or external, will need the proper adapter for the balance port on your battery, I use the losi balancer and it comes with all the adapters I've ever seen.
Look into charge rates and understand them, a safe rule of thumb is 1 amp per 1000mah of battery size, aka 4800mah lipo gets charged at 4.8 amps, 5200mah lipo gets charged at 5.2 amps.
Charge only at the voltage of the lipo, 1 cell, 3.7v... 2 cell (also called 2s) 7.4v, 3cell (also called 3s) at 11.1v and so on. The s stands for series, which is how multi cell lipos are wires to increase voltage.
Only run the lipo your esc can handle, meaning dont try to run a 3 cell lipo on some rtr esc!
Try to buy an esc with lipo cutoff and set the esc up for said cutoff before using it, your car will just stop before you ruin anything.
Lipo batteries can be dangerous if unattended, stay close while charging, they should never get real hot from charging or use like nimh.
Hope this helps!

If you already have a lipo capable charger, then a seperate balancer will do fine. I have a Thunder Power TP-205 that I use with a Duratrax ICE charger.
If you still need a charger, look at high quality ones with built in balancers like the Hyperion EOS0606i or the Dynamite Passport Ultra. Whatever you get make sure the charger has a percentage charge setting. I have my ICE set at 90% and it's supposed to reduce the chance of overcharge, takes less time to charge, and also helps your lipo last longer. I use my ICE to charge Thunder Power 40C 5000mah packs.
As far as lipo packs fitting your TT01, you need lipos that are shaped like stick packs because of the way the battery recess is shaped like this...
