How to make a GT8
I guess this needs to be made into a sticky, so people stop asking.
1. It doesn't matter if you have a Hot Bodies, Associated, Mugen, X-Ray... There are no specific parts to covert an 1/8 scale buggy to a GT8.
2. The only real parts you need is for something to mount the body to the chassis and a set of tyres. A bumper would be nice
There are two brands that make GT8. Ofna and Kyosho. Those would be a good source to use for body mounts and bumpers. Losi L8ight dirt oval is another.
I'm running Kyosho body mounts and bumper on my Tamiya conversion.
3. Things to consider: buggy rear shock towers are pretty tall and so are the dampers. Springs are also very soft. Here you may want to run the front shock tower and shocks on rear; if possible. Otherwise, you may have to fabricate your own shock tower.
That's basically it!

-body, body posts and bumper with dense foam.
-Quality tyres (SP, GRP, PMT, ...)
A good setup to start:
-Dense silicone oil in front diff (500000).
-Rigid axle (or 500000 oil) in the center diff.
-10000-15000 oil in rear diff.
-Ground clearance: 0.8 to 1.5 cm
-3º Rear toe-in
-1º front toe-out
-2º rear camber
-1º front camber

How much droop is recommended in a GT8?
My car has 5mm rear and 4mm in front...it that correct?

I am almost convinced. I have 2 Ultra GTP2s(one standard wheelbase and one SNR stretched version) and a Kyosho GT2 converted. Two of these DM1s showed up at our local track and I was impressed. For some reason I thought they were the long wheel base GT2 type and they are not. I like the ball suspension fr and rr, the separate inner lower hinge pin holders, chassis/bumper config and the blade type anti- sways. So much for the buggy based roadrace cars. I think this car will be hard to beat in the right hands. It's too late in the season around here to give it a try but next season............
