My best suggestion is start on page 1 of this thread and start reading LOL!

I'm going through the on-road conversion of my Jammin right now too, and there is TONS of info on setups and conversion in here. It's a lot to filter through, but very good info. Most of the questions I asked when I first decided to convert are actually all in the thread.

You can read a page or two back I got some suggestions on overall setup (shock/diff oils, camber, toe, etc.) and as I said there is even more detailed setup info all throughout the thread.

Guys,

Just to let you know that the R2 Alpha Body is "almost ready". This body will fit 1/8th scale GT cars.

This is a picture of the first production bodies being tested this week in Brazil, remember that for USA the exclusive distributor of Alpha RC is Max Velocity Racing : http://maxvelocityracing.com

The best advice I can give is keeping your losi and just get the Ofna GTP2e!!! For only $210 (just add servo/speedo brushless/lipo and your set!!!) I have 2 IGT2's and was going to convert one to electric, but when I saw this car it was a no-brainer.
Order yours from IGThobbies.com and Wildbillmassey can get it to you with FREE SHIPPING!!! Welcome to GT8 racing!!!

Sweet looking lid man. What wheelbase is that for?

sounds like a great idea, but if i get another car, my girl will kill me.

i have an 8ight roller, since i have a 2.0e now, unless i can unload my roller (which i doubt that'll happen since its a 1.0) then i would be able to get into an ofna.

she cant tell the difference between an ofna and a losi, but she can tell when theres +1 more than i already have.....

What you should do is look at the cost of upgrading and what parts it would take to convert. Add that up and then subtract that amount from $209.99 (Cost of GTP2e Free shipping form IGThobbies.com) and show your girl how much you saved. With the savings take her out on a date!!!

Even if you sell the losi and get $100 out of it you should be cheaper having only $110 out of pocket then the cost of converting.

We now have the new Sweep 45 Shore EXP Treaded tires. Only the GT compound was available, but now the EXP compound is here.

If you race during the winter like we do here in Texas, then the 45 shore is definitely what you are looking for!

Find them here....

Are all your wheels and tires for the 1/8 scale. if not, for lazy dumbasses like myself, would it be possible to just add 1/8 to the ones that are??

Two of our crew run converted Losi 8ights, from Nitro to BL power. They are awesome on the track and a quality car throughout. Kcunamay's car under that freshly painted lid is a Losi. I think Tony Phelan runs a converted Losi also.

I'm sure you will get some feedback as soon as they hit up the thread again.

I'm not sure about the dollars and cents, but a converted Losi makes a very nice GT8 car that is VERY competitive.

I thought about buying a GTP2e vs. my conversion and for me one main factor in deciding to do a conversion is that I already had a whole parts roller plus tons of other spares, and I can keep using those instead of starting with a different vehicle and having no parts.

All the tires and wheels I've seen on IGT Hobbies are 1/8 (Kyosho, Ofna, and Sweep)

Sure thing! Since you already have the E. You're in great shape as u won't need the electronics or the conversion kit. We started with a 1.0, so the electronics and conversion add a significant amount to the bill.

Maxamps 4s Hard Case Race Edition Lipo 6500 $255 or some of the turnigy 4s packs significantly cheaper!
Tekin RX8/2650 Motor $280
Conversion $80

You can tell your girl you saved $615 by converting your buggy to a GT car!

Below are the parts you need from the L8ight. Prices pulled from www.losipartshouse.com

(1) front shock tower LOSA1717 (alu) $14.93 or LOSA1718 (graphite) $24.99
(1) rear shock tower LOSA1738 (alu) $15.95 or LOSA1739 (graphite) $31.95
(1) set of front shock bodies LOSA5401 $24.89
(2) front shock shafts LOSA5411 $7.95
(1) front bumper set/body mounts LOSA4466 $9.95
(1) front bumper (foam) LOSA4467 $10.95
(1) Your choice of body and wheels and tires. See www.IGTHOBBIES.com for great deals on the bodies along with the SWEEPS tires.

I have found the sweeps to be great in cooler weather and the PMT's to be the tire of choice in the heat.

*My 1.0 kit came with the extra springs.

*Remove the internals from your rear shock and reuse them with the shorter shock body and shaft u purchased.

Put the parts together and you get this:

Mounted with PF8 body:

Mounted with Ofna Mercedes Benz DTM body:

Just a quick heads up for you GT racers.

Last Sunday, final real world competition race testing of our new Wide GT rear slicks with great results. Our new Wide slicks offer you more than 20% more surface area than standard width slicks.

This means more traction, performance, lower lap times and a lot more fun than ever before.

They will be available here in the USA within 2 weeks. With the new 2011 year upon us, expect to see our new innovative rear slicks and new rubber compounds getting the job done at a track near you.

All the best!

See ya at the races!
