I myself am running 5S with 1700 KV tekin. Where did you get your metal pinions 28T to 30T.. are they mod 1 pitch?
Thanks for the link to the kv guide but the problem is I just got the motor and I've already got 12 packs of 4S 3700-4000mah packs (from my 8S planes and heli's). As for the metal pinions, they're ones that I found at my LHS that were made for various other vehicles. The good thing is this motor (CC/Neu 1518 1800kv) can handle 1500 continous watts and 3000 watt peaks

I just got finished doing some test runs in the street and it's just INSANE! I'm thinking the 30T is gonna be too much so I'm gonna start with a 26T tommorrow at the track. BTW, I'm using an old 100amp air ESC until I get my new MMM ESC this week. Got timing set for 4-6 pole and soft throttle launch.

Callahan,

Nice to see you here on the GT thread. Tyres don't bother with Kyoshos. Most of us use the following rubbers

1. PMT Rallye 06
2. GRP
3. Ipanema
4. Alpha RC
5. Sweep

PMT and GRP require a lap or two to warm up, once they do they're fantastic.

Sweep is the newest to the GT realm, I have yet to try it but so far I have heard good things.

Any tough ones to recommend?
If you're looking for a GT car body, you might want to try the Ipanema Blackhawk Warrior. Its designed to fit IGT1, IGT2, DM1S and most buggy conversions or Rally Game cars. Its very fast too.

BSR's are very good no question there.. For me GT class is about scale realism, hence the accurate bodies, rubber tyres with spoke rims..... It's a less expensive alternative to 1/5 scale... That's just my view

They're slower... They top out in the 50s and are rear wheel drive, so they're a bit more challenging to set up

The only prob with the foams is that you have to use the dish wheels as well as if your a racer, they aren't allowed with some of the governing bodies

The crazy part is I've been to John's shop ( I live less than 10 miles) but I've not even tried them. You can't get them directly from the shop, and I refuse to pay extra for something I can walk up and get myself so I guess I'll have to try the sweep tires. Curently using some OFNA slicks but they definately can't handle my lack of driving skills
