I think that after 3-4 minutes, in strong accelerations, the battery voltage drops below 3.2v and the ESC cuts. After 10-20 seconds the esc returning to work for a while...
You can try to reduce the current under acceleration playing with the Start Mode (Punch) setting of the ESC, if that is realy limiting the current used.

I did a single speed conversion a few years back. I used parts from the L8ight ( bumper, body mount, and shock mounts) protoform pf8 body, rc4less springs, sweep wheels and tires, and a motor mount from rc monster.

Ok, thanks for the info. i assume you went w/ the harder spring set from rc4less?

What fluids did you run in your diffs and shocks.

Just trying to get an idea where to start.

I would be racing in Toledo on a prepped surface.

thanks again.

I'm going to try 200,000F, 300,000C, 40,000R for Toledo per a setup sheet for Leisure Hours I found.

I've read about a few folks locking their centers with playdoh or alumn foil.

I just seen some guy local selling his OFNA LX2E buggy he had the proline focus body with some 17mm SCT tires on it , looked pretty badass .

I think in GT8 not sure how it is on that side of country but over here if Im not mistaken you have to run a GT body in order to race .

Just got done converting my 8ight into a GT8 and its alot of fun.

Quick question on limiting droop with the longer shocks, are you just using fuel tubing in the shocks?

In addition, what are some inserts that fit the ofna wheels? (hopefully the sweeps fit)

anyone converted a Tekno EB48? If so, what all did you need to do it?

Also, not sure if this would matter to this group but the Traxxas XO-1 is on sale now for $699.99 at tower (and I assume some other places).

Default Best choice?

Looking to buy an electric 1/8th on road car to lightly Bash around the local parking lots. I wouldn't Mind to race it if any local track starts racing them. DM-1, GPT2e or kyosho gt2e.Thoughts? And of course $ doesn't matter since I spend too much money on this hobby anyway! I currently have a slash GT8 but want to go faster! I have a brand new RX8 and 2650 that I would like to put to use so any info would be great! I know the difference between them all but really wanted to know what car is the strongest and could take a beating..

I converted one of ours and it did really well considering the springs I had. The 19th is the next race in my area and I'll be testing some Losi L8ight model springs as all of ours are too soft. I ran red fronts all around and it wasn't enough for the front, ended up cutting a coil and a half off to get it close. Overall it was very easy to drive, quite neutral. To convert it I just ran the SC body mounts and the Protoform body. My setup sheet is at the shop, I can send you the info if you're interested or post it up here if anyone else is thinking of converting their buggy.

If money is no problem then the Serpent GT8 or the new OFNA GT-V2e should head the list. The Serpent is short wheel base and the OFNA is long. Those two chassis are the best in my opinion and from what's happening at our race track.

yes please. Would love to see it and get pics, part #'s needed to convert, etc.

If its as easy as it sounds, maybe it could be something Tekno could make as a kit?

So if I were to convert my 8TE, would I just lower it, stiffen it, remove the wing, slap a front bumper on it, put street tires on it, and I'm done? I haven't had any luck trying to find a body that would fit the 380mm wheelbase. Any help on that would be appreciated.
