I'm not real interested in theory here more interested in real world results. Has anyone tried running a 6 cell 1400-1700KV system vs the 4 cell equivalent 2000-2500KV system? Wondering if there was any power loss/gain and if it really did run cooler on the higher cell count?

Any real world experience would be appreciated?

I've compared these setups in 8th scale buggy and truggy. In my truggy I used a 6s 3300 pack with a Neu 1515 1.5Y 1500kv or a 1515 3D 1350kv (geared 1 tooth higher) and to compare I ran a 4s 5000 with a Neu 1515 1Y 2200kv. With the higher voltage lower kv combo there are differences. You'll notice that the car feels like it has more low end power (since the low kv draws less current there is less of a voltage drop in the cells), both your ESC and motor will typically run cooler (although you should see the biggest difference on the ESC), and you should see an increase in runtime of 5-20% (depends on driving style) .

Socal GT8ers, we need to come up with a place to run our GT8e's. otherwise are batteries will puff from sitting around lol.

GLARCRC is hosting some Nitro GT8 races. Track is large enough and of enough of us show up, maybe we can convince them to give us our own race.

I'm heading there on Saturday Feb 9th with my friend Jayson for practice day. Feel free to join us.

Thanks that's what I was hoping to hear! Was not sure if the theory really worked out once you add the cooling factor of the car traveling at 50mph.

Thanks.
Anyone?

Hello Raman,

the bodies come from here:

http://www.imodel.fr/275-carrosseries-18-rally

And tyres and rims come also from them because our Challenge is raced only with controlled tyres.
The same set of 4 tyres for the race day, for all drivers and, provided only in the morning of the race.

Au revoir.

Is the tire defined in the rules or can every driver decide what type and brand of tire he is using ?

What are the general rules you using.

Hello from France,

here's a little video of our cars, today at the track of Toulouse.

All the cars running the same tyres (controlled tyres in hard compound) and low down force bodies = our Challenge rules.

Only 4S batteries - 2.150 to 2.350kV motor.
