Charlie,

Nice looking gig.. Wish I could come.. But my GT is still in "work in progress" stage.

Mika: nice ride.. When are you having us over for a barbecue.. Never been to Finland

Hi
Installation:
Inferno VE electronics
Monster RC 2-speed pinion holder/shaft (5mm axle dia)
Evolva pinion gears 15/19
IGW008 Kyosho tranny
Inferno brake calipers and disc (front only, solid shaft requires only one; comes with the GT2)
Custom installed brake servo on the radio box cover in the AUX channel
Brake&reverse off (forward only) in the VE controller
AUX channel mixing for the reverse/brake in the DX3R radio
I'd assume this also aviable setup using Y-wire for the gas/brake using a standard radio (w/o channel mixing capabilities)

Cheers

Yep...Jai C, Steve D, and Dan K will have theirs as well. Looks like we might have about 10 cars showing up! It will be a good day for sure! Maybe i'll have one ready in time as well!

Count me in for 1/8th eGT. Trying to bring up a couple more...

Post this event at socal-rc.com. We've been adding a few people to the class as of late. Others may be interested too. Looking forward to it!

I'm converting a GT now and was wondering what's the best KV to buy for running 4 cells on the SoCal tracks, 2200 or 2650? I know about the top of the line products l;ike Castle and Tekin. For a guy on a budget, what would you guys recommend for motor /esc combo?

Lots of great info in this thread. My buddy and I hope to meet some of you guys on the track soon.

Clay, when I needed advice on what to spend my money on and get started w/o blowing up stuff I contacted Tekno RC (www.teknorc.com or www.impaktrc.com) They have been great with taking the time to explain what works and what doesn't depending on your needs. You don't even have to buy there stuff to get the great advice.

Other than that, taking your time reading through the threads will get you a ton of info that we didn't have a couple years ago or even a year ago. You might even want to post up or read on the www.socal-rc.com forum as well.

Personally I have both Tekin and Castle products running my 8th scale on/off-road cars and they are working great now. I run 6S Lipo so I don't have any useful info on 4S. I am sure someone will post up with some direction for you.

Does RC Monster make a battery box with a shelf for the esc at the rear?

Are GRP tires still available locally for these cars. My LHS used to carry them but not anymore.
