This is Jspeeds quote on a Cletes GT thread

Anyway, doesn't matter much, this is really a regional thread and has nothing to do with our American National or International GT racing community.

Since Clete is in Washington guess you California guys fall under these remarks too.

Makes more and more friends every day...

Give it a day or 2 soon he will tell you how he invented RC racing b4 you could spell "GT".....

I have a question...
What's the difference between the gt8 and the gt8 lite? I have a traxxas slash 4x4 that I've been thinking of converting but I'm not clear on where it falls in the GT classes and why.
Thanks,
E

If you are tired of having your Slash 4X4 sit on the shelf being on used. Get STRC's new conversion kit to turn your Slash 4X4 into a GT8 Lite (weighs about 3 pounds less than a GT8).

Check out the vid in post #2350

The Yellow Car is a GT8 Lite and the Green Car is a GT8. Can't really tell until you pull the lid off. It's new thing and right now it's basically based on where you race if they will allow you to run with the GT8s or not. The GT8 Lite with a good driver will hang with the GT8s. I'm not a good driver. I was in front for while but that was because my buddy was being nice.

What's amazing is that the GT8 Lite only requires 2S to run since you are basically using your electrics that you had when you were running it as a Slash 4X4. Drop in a 3S and you'll be really burning some rubber.

FansCPO-
Thanks for the info. locally there's not a class, but I think it'd be more fun that way than having it hanging on my garage wall. So other than the weight are there any other major differences, do all of the GT bodies fit?

Whats more hilarious is that he goes into every GT8 thread and talks about how great his events are and tells those that disagree with him that they are banned from his events.. AND Get this.. he doesn't even attend them himself. He must have banned himself from his own event

Check out his event website and see how many GT8 Electric heats his events have held. 0

Now he wants GT lite to follow is rules and regs

Unfortunately this is the internet, so we can't chase the village idiot out by throwing stones at him.. but we can place him on ignore.

The GT1 bodies will fit. The GT2 will not.
