Looking to get some handling advice from the GT8e racers.

Usually bash at the local Lowes parking lot which gets washed down once a week so it's relatively high traction. Just for fun I went to the new local school as it has new ultra smooth blacktop layed down.

To my amazement the rear end was everywhere but planted. It felt like I was driving a drift machine.

Looking to stick the rear end a bit more expecially on corner exit. Corner entry the car pushes which is really predictable.

Using box stock springs.
sway bar front - non in rear
80wt front
50wt rear

100k wt front
locked stock spool middle
30k wt rear

Shocks layed all the way down in the rear and the front is as vertical as I can get them. Using the most outside lower hole on the arm.

Rear upper link:
Outside : Middle Upper Hole
Inside : Upper Inside Hole

Running sweep 45s tires on all four corners they get fairly hot and gummy after running for 2min so I think the tires are working well.

Rx8 1900kv 25 boost start 9k end 23k
throttle profile 3
Initial throttle 8
Current Limiter : 75

Stock Spur - 23 Pinion

Hi Capt'N.

You didn't mention what type of car you're running so, I will guess it's a GTP2E.

If you're just bashing, the setup isn't quite as important, as its about FUN FUN FUN.

However, to HELP plant the rear of your car, I would suggest swapping the center spool for a diff. IT HELPS TREMENDOUSLY.

Most setups I've seen start with Front Diff - 20K, Center 100k, and 10k in the rear. Purchase the center diff and TUNE IT TO YOUR LIKING FIRST.

Good luck.

Default DM-1 Pro Techno 2-speed to center diff swap

I'm trying to convert my DM-1 Pro/Techno car from a 2 speed to using a center diff. I bought a Jammin center diff which is a reasonable fit in the center diff bracket, but there is some side play between the bearings and the bracket sides as the 2 speed is a little wider. The bigger issue is that the diff gear sits too close to the mechanical brake servo, maybe 1 mm of clearance if I can get the diff shimmed all the way to one side. There certainly isn't enough room to get a pinion to mesh well without hitting the servo.

The chassis has a recessed location for the diff that has cutouts too, so I really can't move the center diff by redrilling the chassis either. Has anyone else tried to do this conversion? May have to get one of those custom SNR chassis!

This is going to be fun!!! I should be getting my conversion kit today or tomorrow. It will great to see a bunch of these at the next HT Corona Race. Let's definitely get a group photo of all the rigs.
