Default Foam Tyre Inserts - Hardness?

Hi-ho!

I've got some Schumacher lp24 slicks that I want to mount on some dish wheels. I bought some of these foams misreading them as medium compound, when they are in fact soft:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TAMIYA-Medium-...item5d24a5bf68

My question is a) will these be suitable for a med grip asphalt track (I read that they probably wont as the tyres will effectively be soft) and b) if this is indeed the case is there anyway to harden the inserts, save binning them and buying more?

Cheers!

Most probably u can glue a thin cardboard around the soft foam, that should do the job~
