HPI Acura/Honda NSX without the air scoop.

Great fitting body. I love running them although I don't know if it is a great racing body?

Ride 24025 is what they are planning on using as the spec tire for the nationals in chicago this year. Just make sure you use 24mm rims with them. I used them in USGT at the USVTA Southern Nationals in Nashville a few weeks ago and so did the person who set TQ. I got 4th. The winner used Pit treaded tires.

From what I hear, they are working on a retailer in the states for them. I ordered 2 sets and a pack of 8 24mm rims from rcmart and it was about $40 shipped and takes a little over a week to get.

I ran an NSX body at the nationals. It is a very good racing body.

Even the description of them online most places calls them slicks.

Do you think that the minimal "treads" are there specifically to circumvent the USGT rule?

I think they were around before USGT was. They last a long time and worked well for me and others. I am sure there are tires with more grip you can get, but they will not last as long and will cost you more money. They were as good as anything in Nashville.

The Advan cost $20 for 2 tires and do not come with any inserts or rims. So you are looking at 40+ for a set of tires and I hear they are good for just a little while.

This is what was also the "spec" tire at the 2012 Scale Nationals. It also works well on asphalt from what we saw here.

I was informed the tires have been ordered once they are in stock and the price is set we will have more info to share.

Rob and I have talked about getting USGT onto a legit Spec tire to eliminate the high cost and availability issues with some tires. The Ride tires have been used at the 2012 Scale nats with out issue and we have run them alot to see how they hold up. There was 3 cars(Bill, Travis and myself) on them in the A-main at the southern nationals. From what I have seen with my cars and at a couple tracks they last longer than X-patterns pros or d's. The one nice thing is that the older they get they are not like HPI tires were they can have too much traction they are very consistent for their life span.

Look for some official word from Rob about the Ride tire being the spec tire for USGT much like how the HPI tire is the spec tire for VTA.

I'm all for a spec tire . especially if they are cheap and pre mounted . However I think you should wait untill the end of this season to make a offical rule.
I personally just bought two sets of HPI pre mounts to run at the Halloween classic and If I just tossed close to $100 dollars out the window on top of the $70 bucks I blew on 2 Trackstar motors that are no longer legal - a rule change you guys made without any kind of warning . Well then this " Fun / Cheap " second class won't be fun or cheap at all.
