They are all fine aside from the Porsche that you posted its a door stop...

The class is based around GT cars...cars that are not Door-stops or wedges like a 12th scale body or 1/10th pan car body. Something that has a wing that stands off not molded into the body shape like the Porsche you posted a link to.
I'm assuming the door stop Porsche is this one

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2251/...82c216e47f.jpg

the body is actually a pretty good representation of one of the greatest race cars of all time the Porsche 956.

I understand your approach now. No fictional made up super aero bodies like the 1/12.

None of these bodies represent the 2012 or 2013 Lemans cars but some of them are pretty recent. Mid 90s to early 2000s. Many of the rc bodies are in current production. There is even a Peugeot 905 out there.

If it looks like the typical 1/12 or 1/8 body that is a big no go.
Understood. Thank you.

Yes...

I know that it was a very good race car but it doesnt fit into this class in that shape.

I think you get the idea now....

Not really interested in LMP cars. Kind of like F1 to me, the technology is cool and they are definitely cutting edge and pushing the envelope in many ways but they are so far removed from something I could ever even sit in they might as well be space ships. If I won the lottery I might be able to buy a GT class car

I had always assumed (and we know what that means) that since GT's and Proto's don't actually compete in Le Mans type events -- yes they are on the track at the same time, but the each classes has their own rules and winners -- that a GT class would run GT bodies.

That said it doesn't bother me in the least if someone else wants to run one. The difference between say my LFA and the Proto Vette or the Saleen S7 or the Furai pic'd earlier isn't enough that I'm going to care. I'm sure someone could beat me running an upside down shoe box for a body.

I'll cut my new wing down to 10mm and hopefully I see you at the track tomorrow.

for the So. Nats...

USGT,
GT style bodies ONLY, No LMR or any similar types( no big 12th scale bodies ), rear bumper required, NO SLICKS. IFMAR starts for qual, and 8 min A-main. Tires must mantain tread for every race.

here are some real nice paint pics and examples of GT style...

the 2 pics below..are not allowed

I think as one of the returning sponsors of the USVTA Southern Nationals in Music City USA, that the hard working promo guy should get one of these very special bodies to display at next weeks very large event....Im just saying..lol

j/k...but thank you again Protoform/Proline for the great support of the USVTA So Nats and the USVTA class(s) with the J71 and other bodies in GT.

Cool. Hopefully it has the new hourglass grill.

I've been using the one that R2Hobbies sells. Hopefully the PF wings will be a better plastic than the R2 wings -- those tend to snap off at the mounting points.

This one has kicked my ass more than a few times, but the devil's in the details, I guess.

Treaded, non-belted rubber tires on spoke or non-dish rims. A lot of us use the HPI D compound X treads. They seem to grip well.
