I would compare the Ride USGT tires to the HPI Advan carpet tires. The Ride tires are not only much cheaper, but with better wear.

now is that on carpet? what about asphalt? there is only one track that i would use these at on asphalt. all the other tracks i use the vta tires as thats the rules for scale spec.

I would also like to know what the durability and how long the tires last on pavement and on carpet. im would gather the tires last fairly long on carpet. i can run a set of vta tires a full season on carpet. but the vta tires get pretty chewed on pave. so im wondering what the pave situation is. how long they last etc.. i want more than its just a spec tire so what does it matter kind of answer.
We are getting 3 to 4 days out of a set on very abrasive, low traction asphalt. They work really well; so well, in fact, that we are considering them as the spec tire for 17.5 TC. All of the slick TC tires we have tried-- even very hard compounds-- have their grip drop off noticeably after several runs. But the Ride USGT tires don't do this nearly as bad; they might even get a little better after a day's running. Several weeks ago my fast laps in the qualifiers and the main were within 0.04 seconds of each other for a 16 second lap. For wear, consistency, and price, the Rides are hard to beat.

You can expect a few weekends of racing on pavement with the Ride spec tires. I am on my first set, that I have been running on carpet, since Dec. and and have 2 outdoor races on. There seems to be plenty of tread left, for a couple more race days. They are a very good "all-around" tire and you can't beat the cost. I see 17.5 and Mod racers going through a set of slicks a week.

For best grip and decent wear the ride tires do work really well. I really like my advans on carpet but the only compound available is carpet. So I wouldn't use those on asphalt or concrete anyway.

yeah i know. just trying to see if we can split usgt from the vta cars. nobody cares about paint jobs or anything. but it would be nice to be able to compete in the national points system. thats what i m after.

For those who still have an open radial tire selection at their tracks and like to have the flexibility with a wider range of offsets offered with 26mm wheels, then I would consider the RIDE 24026 tire which is the same compound as the USGT Spec tire:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RIDE-26mm-Ra...item58b0a6cbe7

I've tested various RIDE tires and they all perform identical for me on an outdoor parking lot asphalt track with medium grip... they usually last between 12-18 race days depending on how much tire sauce I use, where Paragon White has been doing well for me.

.....Thanks in advance.

Is this the motor from Turnigy that seems to be the ticket??..http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=21954.... The price is just right.... Can I use any ROAR approved 21.5 motor??...... Can I put timing??

Really like this class and have a perfect chassis and body for it..... Plus I just ordered a complete mounted set of USGT tires from GravityRC.

Hoping to debut in less than 2 weeks!

yeah, Alex - that's the motor. now if it was in stock in their US stored, I'd have one too

timing can't go past the label, but you can add motor timing

I still need to get some tires - wanna practice before September

Thumbs up

They run a USGT class at RCMadness in CT. every weekend and a Trophy Race is coming up. I have a RevTech but didn't want to take it out of a car. Plan to run that car too..... If everything goes as planned, it would be a 21.5 weekend, with F1, USGT and TCS Mini.....

yes this is the motor. i run one in my awesomatix. yes i said awesomatix. $800 car and a $30 motor. lol. gear 1 to 2 teeth taller than you normally would a novak or other 21.5. i run mine at a 3.79 fdr. take it to full timing. i run a wtf fan on mine and i run in the 130 to 150 temp range in 80 degree weather.

Sorry about that answer. Since by USGT rules this is the only tire allowed to be run some racers are starting to try and cheat the formula. You weren't and it was a ligit question when fully understood. They do last a long time on carpet as far as wear appearance but they do suffer from stretch due to cornering forces. When that gets extreme your lap time will slow down a bit.
