I've got one on my HongNor DM1e which is a GT8, and I think it makes a big difference when you get up to speeds over 40mph, the car really starts to feel planted as the air flows over the diffuser on the back straight... not sure if that will really do much good for a USGT car which shouldn't come close to 40mph

on my car, the diffuser is attached to the rear of the chassis, not a part of the body, it's kinda like a spoiler for the undercarriage.

Here is an example of 2 different GT8 cars, where the car on the left has no diffuser, and the car on the right has a diffuser:

I was thinking about getting this and see how I could mount it.

I think the rear diffuser would be a great tuning option to easily move more weight to the rear of the car if desired, but I seriously doubt the 21.5T motors will get up to enough speed for it to make any significant improvement in performance, although the angle of downward force on your pic is significantly higher than the one in my DM1e... that could be a major factor. Very much interested in hearing if you notice any improvement at slower speeds.

I have to agree with Bill in that a big ol' plastic diffuser on a relatively slow 1/10 car won't provide any peformance gains. And I know you're looking t add one just for scale looks. So if anything, make a quick disconnect so you can remove it prior to racing.

As for the pic above, I did have a Sakura D3 CS drift car with that big diffuser. All that mass on the rear really added to the pendulum effect as the car was drifting. I couldn't imagine what it would do on one of my race cars, but based on what I felt with the D3 I'm thinking I wouldn't like it. At all. It looked cool, but otherwise sucked.

I imagine that changing the airflow in anyway under/over the car would affect handling. It's why the SCT guys punch holes in the back of their bodies to prevent parachuting and why there are limits in different classes on how tall the spoilers are on the rear trunk lids. I'd like to see someone get some test info, interesting stuff

Absolutely. That's the purpose of adding a diffuser to a car...more downforce.

I put a good sized lexan diffuser on an f1 car and there was enough of a difference that I made another guy drive the car because I thought I was crazy. That being said a pan cars ride height doesn't change much. It would be worth a try though.

I have a set of rims and tires that they sell, and they work great.
